That's because with the size of today's bullpens it is much easier to hide pitchers on your roster.

The Rangers lose Englert in the Rule 5 draft.

But we still have Howard, Sborz, Miller, King and Eli White on our roster.

This is a major fail.

The Rangers are afraid to admit they made a mistake with Howard. No way he should still be on the roster.

Also he may have not been taken if we did not move him to AA. Bad strategy IMO

I don't think you should make it a practice to not give guys deserved promotions just because the team doesn't know how to handle the 40-man prior to Rule 5. The bad strategy lies in not protecting the right guys.

Duran hasn't played in a few days. I wonder of he is done or if he is hurt.

Could bring him to spring training and see if he has anything left.
Maybe he could earn a role like Moore last year?

The Texas Rangers have added some injury risk starting pitchers to their rotation. It is quite possible that a six-man rotation is in their future.

I wouldn’t trust him to do that.

Tigers minor league report site on YouTube already has a 6 minute video posted on Englert. He looks pretty good in that video.
Also Foscue misplayed 4 balls in the first 3 minutes at third base. He looked terrible.

I would still like to get Senga and trade for Reynolds. I wonder if they plan on putting Otto and Dunning in the bullpen. Worked out well for Moore last season.

I want to see Reynolds as well.
Believe it or not the Pirates have a pretty good foundation and should be good in the near future.
I think they will want major league talent back.

I’m wondering if one of Dunning/or/Otto + Heim, Harris, Foscue/or/Duran/or/Smith, Winn & Roby/or/Vanasco could land Reynolds and Bednar.
6 for 2 special.
They need 1 SP & they need cheap w/ Team control. But somewhat proven- Dunning/Otto
They need a 2B-Duran,Foscue,Smith
They need a C-Heim
And they could always use a couple of top pitching prospects. Winn-Roby/Vanasco
And they could use a legit COF/CIF/DH big bat prospect like Harris.
