It is weird that one player can take up 1/2-1/5 of a teams payroll of 26 players.
It does suck to see a guy sign a big long contract and then suck the whole time.
if we go into the season with maybe 3 FA signings it won't be hard for them to be at least 1/2 or more of our payroll

I have heard from the media that Woodward liking Seager and Castellanos as reasons we might sign them. I think management is smart enough to realize that due to the nature of the position, Woodward is not likely to be manager even half way through an extended length FA contract. His affinity with them should not matter in the least.

Because shitheads like Anthony Rendon are getting $37m a year, which raises the FA market and forces teams to offer insane salaries to sign players.
then we need to make sure that we go after quality.

Noah Syndergaard 7 yrs $210M
Trevor Story 8 yrs $240M
and either
Mark Canha or Chris Taylor at 3 yrs $28M(MC) or 4 yrs $44M

none of those are crazy moves

What about Brett Martin, Guzman, Solak, Calhoun, IKF and Trevino.

IKF, Trevino and Guzman to one team and
Solak, Calhoun and Brett Martin to the other.

Wonder what that would return
those would never happen

Seager will probably resign with LAD or New York Yankees
Castellanos (if he opts out) will have 6 to 10 teams competing for him which will result in wild bidding

Unless they pull some st louis-type fuckery, I imagine Woody will be given a chance with a competitive team. I think he's here for another 2 years minimum.

If Josh Jung plays a full year what kind of stat line do you see him putting up?
.265/.335/.460 25 HR 25 Doubles and 75 RBI?

Ibanez?
.270/.335/.435 with 15 HRs and 30 doubles

Castellanos - 7/200

Story - 8/250

Those are my 2 picks as well.
The Rangers went after Castellanos hard a couple of years ago and ofcourse Story is from the area. I think a little less $ though.

Story 7/200
Castellanos 6/150

I think they go after a pitcher too.

I wouldn't be shocked if Castellanos/Story sign bigger contracts than my guesses. The market is insane.
