Media surely does not. They seem to be anti owners minus a couple

Yes these players cashed in just like the owners

But we don’t have to take a side. I brought up old time players who sacrificed for the game and have been shut out in their retirement years.
As a working man I once could easily afford the prices now I feel like it is a luxury I do nor want to.

The game became business except what was on the field so far business has trumped baseball the game.

So I don’t feel any injustice to the players or sympathize with owners who want to withhold minor leaguers ST pay.
Yeah, the idea that you don't have to take sides is completely foreign to a lot of people.

It's funny, when you don't take a side, while so many are so one-sided, it makes it seem to them as if you are taking a side.

I had a problem posting awhile back and couldn’t get any help from the Hoop. Fordman84 messaged me and was able to help. You might see if you can message him.
I tried to send him a message but it says I can't start a conversation with him. Oh well, it was a good thought. Thanks

Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo and Sam Dykstra picked a 10-man team in a serpentine-style draft, selecting players from a pool with set parameters. It was a deep pool, with nearly 700 players in it. The trio was allowed to select players from the current Top 30 lists with an ETA of 2023 or beyond, on the recent Top 50 international prospects list and on the Top 100 Draft prospects rankings.

In the end, 30 total players were taken, with the complete results of the draft below. The 2022 Draft class had the most selections (four), while the Texas Rangers led all organizations with three prospects taken. Here is each participant’s analysis of his draft. Set a reminder on your calendar to check on this five or six years from now to see who really got the upper hand.

More from the above article:

"Based on value compared to other players at the position, I thought the most valuable player, by far, was Rangers first baseman Dustin Harris – he’ll crack the overall Top 100 in the near future – but I couldn’t take him in the first round. I was happy to grab him in the third."

Leiter, Harris, and Duran were taken. If the Rangers draft Johnson, Green, or Jones then they will have a fourth player in this mock draft.

R J Anderson from CBS Sports agrees with me about DeLauter. I was hoping he wouldn't get noticed this quickly. He might just go too early now.

2. Chase DeLauter, OF, James Madison

DeLauter is (and will likely continue to be) the trendy dark horse pick to go No. 1 this summer. In two seasons with the Dukes, he's pummeled Colonial Athletic Association pitching to the tune of a .385/.488/.657 batting line, 29 extra-base hits, 14 stolen bases, and 10 more walks than strikeouts. DeLauter eased concerns about his excellence being the product of substandard competition last summer by tormenting the Cape Cod League. He launched nine home runs and tallied three more walks than strikeouts while hitting .298/.397/.589 in 34 contests. DeLauter has a loose barrel and he hasn't been impacted by his tendency to bar his arm; instead, he's hit everything thrown his way, and he's done it while displaying power to all fields. Did we mention that he can run and throw; that he might hang in center to begin his career; and that he won't turn 21 until October? Factor in how he's not likely to be challenged this season, and there's a compelling case to be made that he could indeed be the first or second player off the board. If DeLauter does end up being picked by the Orioles, it'll be appropriate; one scout said that he's Colton Cowser with a grade and half more power. Cowser was, of course, happily selected fifth overall by the Orioles last draft.

No one addresses the overpaid players on the back end of contracts. That was always supposed to offset the problem the players are wanting addressed.
what should they do? who's the blame for this? the players? the owners? or both?

I like this idea for these underpaid guys and it helps thos who deserve to get to the MLB club sooner and more fairly yet someone has to pay for it so maybe the overpaid players help shoulder part of this

Just one viewpoint. Sure others that are legitimate opposed to this

No football left. Focus should be on baseball now. At what point does this really hurt both sides if a deal isn’t struck?

Wonder if anyone is running the hoop since you never get a response from them. I just sent Fordman a message. Will see if he responds.

The Yankees, Twins, Angels, Phillies, Astros, White Sox and the Blue Jays are all mentioned as good trade fits.

they've already missed arbitration exchange deadline of Jan14th but the big date is Feb 17th when pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report with 1st game of ST on the 26st.

so i would project that we are already looking at issues right now.
