Hearn seems to be a press darling. Nice local guy who is social media savvy. What is he doing in the off-season to prepare him for a breakout season. We know Tavares is playing winter ball

Love to have a breakout year at CF, DH or LF. Or catcher

Not trying to be too snarky and certainly not Hearns fault but these writers find certain guys popular and they suddenly become the it guy.
Please fill me in with the progress Hearn made
To start you need a minimum of 3 pitches and a plus FB ( he has that it seems). Not sure about the rest
It seemed like to me, six months ago, all of the media was writing him off as nothing more than a reliever at best.

Looks like the Rangers did pretty good with the international market.

4 seam, sinker, slider, changeup,

Sinker was the big addition last year, allowed him to attack the zone and get outside without trying for strikeouts, slider also recently had a makeover and should get better over time, the changeup needs refinement but that comes with practice

This information may be subject to a slight change, but I am getting it from Baseball America. They only have the Rangers signing 15 international free agents so far, when Blake says they have signed 15, so the numbers could change slightly.

I noticed, of the 15 guys the Rangers signed, 8 of them play shortstop or 53.3%. There were 14 other teams that signed 10 or more players as reported by BA currently. Of those 14 teams, 12 of them signed significantly less of a percentage of shortstops. The Rays signed 5 shortstops out of 10 players signed and the Indians signed 9 shortstops out of 14 players signed. Of those 14 teams that signed 10 players or more, 29.8% of the signings were shortstops.

just what i was thinking however i think IKF starts the season at 3B (unless we get a can't-turn-down trade offer during the rest of the off-season) and then he does get traded before the trade deadline and Jung plays the rest of the season

Should change the franchise to the Texas Shortstops
After it was all said and done they changed on guy who was listed as a SS to an OF. There was another SS whose name dropped off the list when I saw the official list. But it was still a lot of them though. Lol

Jeff Wilson seems to think the two best guys the Rangers signed yesterday will help propel them into the top 10 in overall system rankings by the time the 2022 season starts.
