I wouldn’t mind a competition with Andrus, Odor, Solak, Calhoun at 2B/DH.
But we do need a third baseman for a year or two.

Suspect you will see it. Odor has to do the impossible or he has no future. Andrus is getting old and his future is also limited. Not sure if Solak will be the man.

The bench is looking heavy. Odor and Elvis may find lots of time there along with Calhoun.There really is not much future in Odor or Elvis

Hopefully, Calhoun will DH about 100 games or so and play the OF about 40 or 50 games.

I think the only real opening we have now is at 3B and we will probably sign a cheap 3B on a one year deal, probably someone like Frazier. I would prefer going after a higher quality guy, but I doubt JD sees it my way.

That guy will probably come in free agency a year or two from now.

I get the idea that they want Jung to have at least another half season in the minors. I would imagine they feel the same about Huff and Cody as well, maybe a whole season for them. Then we will have to decide what to do with Trevino if Huff is to be our catcher.

Rangers: Chris Woodward is entering the last guaranteed year of his deal, with the Rangers holding a club option for 2022. Woodward has a 100-122 record over his first two years in the Texas dugout, and since the team is looking to get younger in 2021, it doesn’t seem like an immediate return to contention is in the cards. If it’ll be a year or two until the Rangers are done with what seems like a mini-rebuild, it’s possible the team might decide to hire a new manager to herald them into something of a new era. Woodward may have to prove himself anew by shepherding this younger talent and keeping the Rangers as competitive as possible while they shuffle the roster.

I hope at some point we can go after and sign one of the top hitters in baseball, when the timing is right that is. We will probably require at least two major expenditures in free agency if we are ever to go to the WS again. We just have to do it wisely.
