like Forrest Gump said "it Happens"Art Warren was DFA to make room for Arihara.
How crazy would be it Warren went on to have a better 2021 and 2022 season than Ariahara.

i think we see Lowe start at 1st, Taveras in CF, (unless traded) Gallo in RF, Dahl in LF. question marks are 2B and 3B. Solak needs to start at 2B. we need to sign or trade for a 3Bman and a DH, if we do trade Gallo then Dahl to RF and sign a LF on a 1 year dealWe have too many problems to start a season. No real idea who starts other than Catcher and SS. Absolutely have no big bats that are proven consistent. Gallo and Huff are in that group and that is it. And of course pitching. IKF is probably the best all around player we have to start the year. Slowly JD has messed this team up and thank goodness we have a new GM.
Benjamin doesn't need any more time in the minors. He has close to 500 innings experience as a pro.i'll wait and see before i start degrading the signing. but it probably means that Gibson or Lyles or both get traded before the season starts. even right now our starting pitching is Gibson, Lyles, Dunning, Arihara & ? Allard probably needs to be at AAA, Benjamin & Cody are both probably a year away.
i see him as a possible bullpen performerBenjamin doesn't need any more time in the minors. He has close to 500 innings experience as a pro.
Hearn, Allard, Cody, Phillips, and Dunning are all very close. By this time next year there will be at least 3 or 4 more guys who are very close.who exactly is he blocking? not one of our young pitchers is close to being ready for prime time. the closest is probably Allard and Palumbo. Allard showed that he needs another year at AAA to fine tune his stuff and Palumbo probably does too. everyone else is at least 2 years away so Arihara's 2 year deal fills that gap and if someone is ready earlier he can be traded etc
Don't know much about him but at this time I rather see what we have in Jung. What are your thoughts on Ha-Seong Kim for 3B?
I feel like he would be a guy like Whit Merrifield.
Maybe not quite as good though.
.265/.355/.445 with decent defense and running
Probably 15 or so home runs.
2.5 WAR player.. never comes across as flashy but is very consistent and gets on base and plays solid D.
I don’t like the idea of blocking Jung but either one could move or not work out after the fact so..
That can be said for just about every starting pitcher.i see him as a possible bullpen performer
in your opinion. apparently as for as 2021 is concerned the team doesn't feel as comfortable with them as you do. o don't claim to know how close they are to being ready but Allard got beat up last season and isn't even been penciled in for 2021, Cody has never pitched above AA except for a few games last year neither has Phillips. Dunning will be in starting rotation in 2021. i am all for seeing the young guys up but not throwing them to the wolves like youHearn, Allard, Cody, Phillips, and Dunning are all very close. Alihara is a 5.00 ERA pitcher at best. We didn't need to sign a guy to a 2 uear deal to get that.
right now we have Gibson, Lyles, Dunning and now Arihara that leaves 1 rotation spot unless we trade someone. who gets the 1 spotThat can be said for just about every starting pitcher.
Yeah, the same ones who thought Odor should be our starter for the last few years don't think they want to go with younger pitchers. Lol. Nice try.in your opinion. apparently as for as 2021 is concerned the team doesn't feel as comfortable with them as you do. o don't claim to know how close they are to being ready but Allard got beat up last season and isn't even been penciled in for 2021, Cody has never pitched above AA except for a few games last year neither has Phillips. Who says Dunning is guaranteed a spot? There is a lot more fodder that can be acquired to fill two or three spots.right now we have Gibson, Lyles, Dunning and now Arihara that leaves 1 rotation spot unless we trade someone. who gets the 1 spot
i think of the David Clyde's that we rushed into the starting rotation and ruined but you seem hellbent on rushing them no matterYeah, the same ones who thought Odor should be our starter for the last few years don't think they want to go with younger pitchers. Lol. Nice try.

I agree completely. No one drafted out of high school should skip the minors. The situation we are in now is a day and night difference than the David Clyde situation though.i think of the David Clyde's that we rushed into the starting rotation and ruined but you seem hellbent on rushing them no matter
I don’t take anything personally I just totally disagree with some of your assessments especially about pitchingI agree completely. No one drafted out of high school should skip the minors. The situation we are in now is a day and night difference than the David Clyde situation though.
Your appraisal of my stance is so wrong that it is comical. You seem to have a real problem with someone who disagrees. Why do you seem to take baseball discussions so personally?
The way you intentionally mischaracterize what I say seems to indicate that you are taking it personally. That's okay though. It makes the board a little more interesting at least.I don’t take anything personally I just totally disagree with some of your assessments especially about pitching
