What are you all riled up about? DT asked me a question and I told him what I thought they would do. Why does that bother you?

There is absolutely no "worry" involved.

My point is why continue pouring millions down the drain with cheap FA’s? That accomplishes nothing and we get nothing in return. Point of fact: we paid millions for Chirinos, Frazier, Dietrich, etc and what did we get for those millions. Nothing.we got more from Huff and Guzmán. Accept the growing pains and go with the kids

Just cause they got Lowe does not mean he is locked in for the next few years
If he improves I bet he keeps spot but if not then I bet another takes his place
I am hoping one of our OF prospects pan out for OF. Maybe Tejeda takes 3B and Jung gets 1B or even Huff and Trevino and Garcia pan out

At some point, if both Trevino and Huff prove to be capable of being starting catchers, then probably one should be traded for a player filling a position of need.

It way to early for me to make projections on guys I've never seen play. Catcher is about the only position seen as solid. Easier to project who will be gone such as Oder, Guzman and Gallo.

Well, I guess none of the players I listed are locked in if they don't perform.

Speaking as someone who is no stranger to odd hills to die on, this seems like an odd hill to die on. The "kids" aren't going to be ready at the same time, and baptism by fire isn't a smart approach with most players.

There are a lot of fallback options available, like Dunning, Palumbo, Hearn, Allard, Burke, Alexy, and Phillips.

Speaking as someone who is no stranger to odd hills to die on, this seems like an odd hill to die on. The "kids" aren't going to be ready at the same time, and baptism by fire isn't a smart approach with most players.

To be on the side of this conversation that I am on seems really odd to me. It wasn't long ago that I was usually accused of wanting to rush some of the kids. Now, I find myself warning that we shouldn't expect some of them to be ready yet. It is funny how that has come around.

This makes sense. Keep thinking Palumbo is in the mix but he may be a bit fragile

I do not think he will. Would rather trade him than sit him. IMO he is our next SS but is way early to know anything for certain.

Yep, I have been a part of those conversations as well, but the timing issue is a separate topic.

It will only be a bummer to me if he deserves to start and doesn't. If he is a gold glover and is on the bench because there is a better overall player to play that position, then that is wonderful. That is a great position to be in as a team.
