Texas Rangers 2020-2021 Offseason Thread

Rangers get Nate Lowe from the rays for a couple of younger guys. I like this trade. I believe he has 6 more years of team control and can probably plug right in at 1B and hit .270 20-25 hrs 70-80 RBI with tons of upside. Maybe he can become a .285-30hr-90RBI guy going forward

Two years ago Nate Lowe was ranked as the Rays 13th best prospect. That was two slots below a guy named Nick Solak.

We traded for two 1B, at least. Apostle was thought to be moved to 1B in the very near future. Now he is blocked. Unlike the Rays, we don't seem to be able to make great trades for our blocked players. When we unload Apostle a year from now for an underwhelming return, remember this trade.

The Rays just seem to be a much, much better run organization.

Through his first 219 MLB AB Lowe has a .770 OPS.

Through his first 225 MLB AB Guzman had an OPS of .765.

At some point in the fairly near future we will need to trade a catcher, unless they see Trevino as a backup. There will not be many 1B AB to be had by Huff or Trevino.

both the chirinos and solak deals went ok for us. Hopefully this one will too. I’d always be a little apprehensive about dealing with the rays tho. Man that team is smart.
