At some point in the fairly near future we will need to trade a catcher, unless they see Trevino as a backup. There will not be many 1B AB to be had by Huff or Trevino.

Yes if I am a betting man Huff profiles best at 1B but what about Apostel? A lot of things can happen and they kept Garcia too. I am hoping that at some point our AAA will be full of good players that can replace our MLB players as needed. This is a good problem we have not had recently. Regardless of how good our prospects look to be, their value at the upper levels is uncertain. Best to have many at all positions

The free agent market seems to have a lot of decent players who could be signed to a 1 year deal I would think..

Pillar, Goodman and Marisnick for CF

Marwin Gonzalez and Maikel Franco for 3B

Curt Casali and Wilson Ramos for C

Chase Anderson and Mike leake SP

Matt Wisler and AJ cole for BP.

I don’t want them to rush Jung, Huff, Tejeda and Taveras. I think they need to spend the first part of the year at AA or AAA. Then maybe trade away those free agents we sign and call them

The one year free agent that can be flipped is what I had in mind for 3B and LF. I am not sure the team is thinking that way though. I think Taveras is going to start in CF. Catcher belongs to either Trevino or Huff. They just don't need both catchers up at the same time.

I think that penciled in Huff b/c we need his bat. So does Trevino go to AAA and bring in another catcher as back up? Really don't like that idea

Daniels said Apostel will focus on 3B.
wouldn’t be surprised to see him in left field or possibly moving to RF in a year or 2 when Gallo is Traded

I really like Eddie Rosario for LF.
With Apostel, Andrus and Odor im not sure if they will look into a 3B man but if they do wouldn’t mind Maikel Franco

For me personally we have so many young guys at positions that are just log jammed. Let some of them keep playing at the MLB level and see what we have and continue with the rebuild. We still will have plenty of young talent in the minors working on their skills. Don't want anymore Frazier-like guys taking up space.

it is probably what JD does but what do you do if you sign 3-5 of these guys and you can't find another team that will take them. cut them, eat their remaining salary or play out the year with them? and don't forget the effects of COVID-19. even with these vaccines there will still be probable limitations with possible delays in players moving

I agree with the log jams.Seems we always have players blocking players and log jams. Look at our catcher situation. Eventually we may have to trade one if another position does not become available and the crystal ball is not clear on that.

I don't think there's anything wrong with both catchers getting 81 games and playing every other day either

What are you all riled up about? DT asked me a question and I told him what I thought they would do. Why does that bother you?

There is absolutely no "worry" involved.
