So is Choo gone for sure? Don’t think we have an answer on that.

I just reminded myself that CY knows moves that we do not. Might make more sense if we did.

You know, with all of these moves this week, I never once even considered CY having anything to do with them.

Well with Dahl if healthy we are better defensively. And Yes he can be flipped if has a great year.
What this also does is narrow the pathway for Odor, Solak and Calhoun for coexistence. It looks to be the case that Solak is the front runner for 2B if he can handle defensively.

And yes it will be interesting what the scenario is for 3B. Heineman is off the roster too. Lots of moving parts

Too many moving parts at the present. No idea where CY wants to go.

I like the David Dahl signing. Cheap one year deal but under team control for 3 seasons.
He’s only 26 and has shown he can hit at an .850 OPS in the bigs.
seems like a smart move

Common for 1st baseman. More moves coming I think. Why sign two new faces when Apostle and Huff could be used. Huff has a good bat for DH too while Trevino catches along with a cheap FA or Huff can alternate with Trevino. Lot of moving parts says trades are in the making IMO.

maybe they could sign Hunter Renfroe for LF and Renato Nunez for DH. Both under team control for 3+ years (if needed).
Add some RH thump. Nelson Cruz didn’t blossom until he was 28 years old.
Use Willie Calhoun as a back up LF/DH to face RHP and cycle with the 2 mentioned above. Divvy up the 1200 plate appearances for the 2 positions to where each one gets 400 PA.

i guess if we are going low we might as well consider Jason Castro at catcher, Marwin Gonzalez 3B, Eddie Rosario DH and even Jurickson Profar Util on 1 year deals too

I like Eddie Rosario but he hits left handed.
jason Castro isn’t who I like. I like Curt Casali.
Hunter Renfroe and Nunez have shown they can have an OPS+ of 100 or better and they’re both young and possibly on the rise. They would also be under team control for 3 and 4 years if they do start to blossom if not cut bait for the youngsters.
I just feel our young guys, who may not pan out, are still about 1 year away in my opinion.
