Seems like Rangers won the trade getting the Sox’ #8 prospect. Mazara couldn’t even hit 20 damn HRs in that Arlington bandbox?
I am not sure who won, if anyone did. What you guys had to give us was not a good fit for us. We didn't need a CF prospect.

Giving up on a 24 y/o Mazara for the privilege of paying a 37 y/o Choo 21 million, yay
I guess that's one way to look at it. Unfortunately we had an excess of COF's with Calhoun and Gallo set, Choo with his no-trade clause untradeable and Mazara. So the trade choice was limited

well as a trade chip maybe we can send Walker somewhere in a package and get something better in return that wouldn't have happened with Mazara.
i'm still hoping that we can find a couple of teams who will take Choo and Odor but i'm not going hold my breath waiting

No problems at all with shipping Mazara out of here.

Also don't want Madison "Red Ass" Bumgarner anywhere close to this team.

Odor will be here until his contract is up just like Choo. JD would have to pay part of their contract if he traded them and that would be the same thing as admitting a mistake. JD is not about to admit he made a mistake with either of them. Had Prince not have had to retire, he would still be here as well.

agree rather trade for Happ over MadBum
Lol. That would be about right for JD to help the Yankees out by trading for an aging, overpriced pitcher who just put up an ERA right at 5.00

here's a thought: Yankees, after signing Cole, are looking to clear salary. what if we convinced Choo to accept a trade to them for J.A. Happ and Zack Britton plus we throw in $7M cash?

We needed to resolve the OF mess and there was no way out without feeling some pain. Hurt to trade Maz and hurt to keep Choo. Time to move on with Choo for one more yr and problem solved.

You didn't notice my sarcasm font?

There will be a hole at DH after this year though. Hopefully, there will be a better answer?

Didn't think you did sarcasm lol

Finding a hitter to fill that spot shouldn't be overly difficult... Plus I'm always in favor of using the DH to give days off in the field, not having some no fielding lug in there every day

Releasing Choo would've been the better option to me
