Well fuck. As much as it pains me to say it.....

I have to agree.

The worst thing about Texas fans right now is their self loathing negativity, me included to an extent. We are so beat down we are eating our own. You should see the Texas fan sites. It's a fucking blood bath right now. Bannings, personal attacks, neg rep flying like crazy. It's awesome, we can't enjoy the winning streak... :pound:

I got nothing against Texas ... a decent Texas team helps keep the OU posters in check. They kind of balance each other out.

But he's right. You do need thicker skin.

Everybody's program gets shit on here. Even Bama.

I figured Nebraska might do better this year with Frost as coach but they've under whelmed thus far. Got to wonder if they ever return to prominence at this point.

I'll admit I get too defensive at times but I'm getting the shits of people taking cheap shots at the UW and the PAC in general. We get enough of that shit on ESPN.

It's going to take time but Frost will get them there imo.

The problem for Nebraska is the kids getting recruited now to play college football don't remember one time in their life when the Huskers were relevant. Telling them about the 90s is fun but they don't care . There are 2 other programs in just the B10 West who have been far better than Nebraska over the last 15 years and about 30 other P5 programs can say the same . Tennessee is on the same boat but at least they have a better recruiting area and better weather . Neither school is any kids "dream" school anymore so they're left with leftovers

They win out, they're in the playoffs. Halfway through the season and still in control of your own destiny is nothing to sneeze at.

I don't think Texas will get there this year, but it is a huge step in the right direction.

This is where I am and most Texas fans. This season has represented a huge step forward to this point, but there are a couple more left to make

If either program wants to get back to relevancy, they're gonna have to do it the hard way. They're gonna have to beat the big boys in their conference by outscheming and outcoaching more talented teams in order to make their program more desirable for blue chip recruits.

The Nebraska powerhouse of the 90s, that slammed Florida in a NC, will never happen again. The team was full of ex-cons and old guys. The star had a long record and threw his girlfriend down the stairs n shit.

The SJWs would never let a disgrace like that happen again. The same goes for the shit that comes from Miami.

Yep . Texas and Florida at least have the benefit of kids remembering when they were great so they know it's possible . Telling kid born in 2001 about the 80s and 90s isn't any different than Minnesota telling them about the 60s.

The Big 12 and Pac 12 have earned the crap they get the same way the ACC and Big 10 did 10 years ago. Now we wait on the SEC to take a tumble for a few years. Bama kept them propped up during their recent slight step back, so they never hit rock bottom like the other leagues have.

There's some dumb luck in recruiting n sech. Had Florida kept Grier, think how much better we'd be now and last season.

You only need to get lucky in a few positions to make all the difference when you're half way there. Of course, Nebraska isn't half way there. Still, it's only the B10. A few community college recruits from the south would probably put them half way there.

as for Texas, do you know the team goal? It's definitely not a "natty".

The team goal for 2018 is "to be in the conversation for a Big 12 championship". Which seems smart to me. Everyone in that locker room knows they cant compete for a NC this year. The goal is to get better, and have a shot for the Big 12.

National talk and the "stupid" Texas fans (all schools got 'em) will say otherwise.

Nebraska: They used to be what Alabama is today-king of the hill. This despite not being in a talent-laden area. They can get back, and I think they will return. But it's not an overnight fix. Plus it well take a nationwide recruiting infrastructure being built back up.

Tennessee: They can get back to respectability, but as with all the other teams in the SEC not being coached by Nick Saban, it will be easier when he's gone.

Florida: like Tennessee, I don't know a whole lot about them. But being in a talent hotbed, I think it just depends on coaching. They can always get talent, usually always play good defense. They just need an offensive mind/genius and accompanying talent to hit it big

Sure, if indeed they do win out, then they'd deserve a shot. But to win out is almost impossible. Don't ask me why, maybe it's because everyone plays everyone else, every year. But going undefeated in Big12 is tough to do.

Every single game for Texas is going to be a fight.
