Smolinski up replacing Beltre. Claudio down to make room for Gallo.

Smolinski had not been down for 10 days so only way he could return would be to replace a player sent to the DL. TEX had a 3-man bench ... that's why a position player (Gallo) was appropriate replacement for a pitcher (Claudio).

Dropped implied the ball hit his glove and then DROPPED, that didn't happen, so in the spirit of accurate statements, yes that is better,

This isn't a debate about global warming/climate change, there isn't much ambiguity about what dropped means
