(on if he has been to a Super Bowl before and if so, what was his experience like) “Yes, I have attended Super Bowls in the past. For example, the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers two years ago. I was at this Super Bowl in New Orleans when San Francisco played Denver and there might have been one other one along the way. There might have been a couple other ones.”

Wow. I wish I was at a point in my life where I couldn't recall how many Super Bowls I've been to. :)

Purdy: San Francisco 49ers arrive at Super Bowl 2013 in style and ready for business - San Jose Mercury News

The seats weren't normal seats. Instead of booking their usual 757 airplane for a Delta charter flight to the Super Bowl, the 49ers upgraded and took a 747 normally used for international trips such as their journey to London in 2010. Thus, the plane featured roughly 30 adjustable seats that folded back like beds, each in its own mini-cubicle. The Big Easy Chairs?

"I was able to sleep," said center Jonathan Goodwin, only in his second season with the team. "Normally I can't do that on a plane. That's the first time we've had those since I've been here."

The collapsible-bed seats were assigned by seniority, Goodwin said. Rookies and the coaching staff, including head coach Jim Harbaugh, sat back in coach. Which is appropriate, right?

The Last Stand

31 years ago, the San Francisco 49ers stepped onto Pontiac field

they were the new comers to the big stage,

beating the NFC powerhouse in the Dallas Cowboys weeks past.

This team was led by the weak armed, erratic QB Joe Montana.

Being his third year in the league no one would have guessed Joe would lead his team to a 13-3 season

How could a guy get this success when he threw only 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions?

No one understood heart, no one.

Bill Walsh was the master and commander of this franchise.

Spent years under Al Davis, Paul Brown, and ended his NFL campaign in San Diego under Tommy Prothro.

Walsh took his talents and his wisdom to Stanford and had success.

When the 49ers went 2-14, everyone questioned who the next coach would be,

the stage was set

and that stage took us to Pontiac field in 1982.

In his years under Paul Brown, Walsh developed an idea

a Philosophy, that some could even consider an art.

The West Coast Offense

and on 1982, it was the most opportune time to show the true power against his former team.

We won our first that day, and that propelled our story.

Year after year we had continued success.

Our D was dominant

Our O was unstoppable

But most importantly, we had HEART.

1985 we won our second after beating the heavy favored Miami Dolphins

Injuries plagued us

Players left us

but we did not bend

and we did not break.

1986-1988 we fought after Joe started struggling

even when everyone had their doubts

the team stuck by their guy.

We won our third in 1988.

And the next in 1989.

Bill Walsh left after that year and went back to Stanford

George Seifert took over

We had a failed three-peat.

Joe injured his shoulder

Steve took over

Eddie D wanted Joe

Joe wanted to start

Steve wanted to start

This was the QB controversy of the century

and it all fell into George Seiferts hands.

Seifert decided to put in Steve Young.

In 1995, would be the last time the 49ers touched glory..

Until Now..

We are the fan base of a proud 49er franchise.

Through mud

Through dirt

Through blood

and through pain

we fought.

It has been 18 years since we have gotten to this point.

No matter what we will not let this franchise down.

We have a rejuvenated heart

Something analysts can't scout

something computers cant analyze.

only coaches and players can see it.

Our heart has brought us here.

49er faithful.

Your San Francisco 49ers are back.

Be proud

Be humble

Be excited

and most importantly

Lets show this team how much we love them

Lets show them our emotion

Lets show them our gratitude

Lets fuel them on their journey

This is the only the beginning of something great

It all starts here.

This is our last stand

our last stand to break the mold of being mediocre for 7 years

our last stand to the media to prove who we really are

our last stand to show the world what kind of fan base we are

49er Faithful

Dust Off

Lets Ride.
