The 74 Steelers beat the Vikings in case that's the team you meant.
75 Steelers beat the Cowboys
The Raiders won the next in 76 ( a topic of discussion on the board )
Ill say you're correct that Steeler team that beat the Vikings was one of if not the most impressive

Yeah I'm not talking the one game. The Eagles played an awesome game. But some were saying top 3 all time team and that's comical. Their D is not even a top 3 all time unit and it's their best

Top 5:

#1: '13 Seahawks*
#2: '71 Cowboys*
#3: '00 Ravens
#4: '20 Bucs*
#5: '85 Bears

*Again, it comes down to 2 teams in a Super Bowl. Look who those teams played... and end result of the game; how they dominated.

The Broncos offense in 2015 SB 50 was the worst offense in SB history. They broke the record for ineptitude going 1 for 14 on 3rd downs. Their offense scored one offensive TD which was a 4 yard drive and they needed a PI call to get a new set of downs to get it.

The Panthers offense was the number 1 offense that year and they were 15 and 1 and dominated the playoffs.

Peyton Manning his last season was the 33rd ranked QB. Had 9 Tds to 17 into.

Yet the Broncos won by 14 and I think they had the most sacks in a SB. Could be wrong about that.

The question is good... the answers though, they are oblivious.

Correct answer: 2013 Seattle Seahawks

First play on offense by the 2013 Denver Broncos was a safety. It was all downhill from there. (Btw, first Super Bowl to start that way too.) Oh right, who were those 2013 Denver Broncos? Nbd, just the #1 offense that season and best in NFL history to that point.

Now, others will say the predictable '85 Bears or '00 Ravens... just, no. Who did the '85 Bears play? A VERY fluke Patriots team that never played in a Super Bowl before. Who did '00 Ravens team play? Another FLUKE team, the Giants. BOTH the Patriots and Giants of '85 and '00 were FAR from favorites like the '13 Broncos.

It's just that simple. #GoHawks.
Wrong but welcome to the Hoop!

The Eagles SB win yesterday certainly belongs in this thread.
$0-22 does not tell the story. 2 time SB champs shutout through 3 quarters.
Garbage time points only for future HOF QB?

Yesterday's drubbing of the Chiefs was a good example of a defense imposing their will on a HOF QB and making him uncomfortable without having to do anything fancy or special. I'm not even going to bother with the late game "garbage" stats and points as they are completely irrelevant. It was very similar to the Seahawks and Broncos in SB48. I think this game could be added to the list. It's all subjective but who you do it against does matter to me. That doesn't take anything away from the 85 Bears, 00 Ravens and those 70s Steelers teams or the 15 Broncos. All of these teams defenses totally dominated the game.

You are forgetting the Patriots 3 points given up to the `1th best offense ever.
That seems convenient for a seahawks fan that lost to the Patriots. You should have run it!

I mentioned that one in one of my earlier posts but you are right, it's also in the mix Southie. My apologies. I think what the Giants were able to do to your Pats in 07 should get an honorable mention as well just because of the circumstances and how the Pats dominated everybody that year and were chasing perfection.

Gave up 8 points and 300 yards of offense. I forgot 8 points is the most given up in a Super Bowl.

Huh? Wtf are you talking about???

Again, they played the BEST OFFENSE IN NFL HISTORY in that Super Bowl. The 8 points was when they were already down 36-0... the last play if 3rd quarter. In other words: garbage time score.

Seeing THAT was your only knock on the Seahawks in that Super Bowl... oh, and "it was cold" and "fake noise"??? Jfc, you shouldn't have posted ANYthing.
I didn't post anything about cold and fake noise, that wasn't me. So points in the fourth quarter don't count????? Hmmm, they do on the scoreboard and in the record books FOREVER. Maybe they should just end games when they think it's over. Like Houston leading Buffalo 35-3 in the playoffs. Like San Diego 24 Miami 0 in the first quarter of their playoff game. Should have ended it there right?

I hate to tell you, but EVERY second of EVERY game counts in the record books FOREVER.

Any of your defensive choices have more penalty yards as a team than the opposing offense had TOTAL yards? Hmmmm?
Any of your defensive choices have a running back gain more yards than the opposing offense had TOTAL yards? Hmmm?

I await your replies which will all be no to those questions. Mic drop.

There's no mic drop when you sound like an idiot. Stop using google and pay attention to the game.

The final stats were not as good because the Eagles pulled their starters late. But they thoroughly dominated Mahomes through three quarters, putting the game away. Mahomes was held to one first down and 23 total yards in the first half. He was running for his life!

The defenders were well coached too--note how they did a good job of forcing him to run forward, up into the collapsing pocket and past the line of scrimmage, and not sideways where he could scramble and make throws on the move.

So if we;re focused on the teams being the primary best, then the best ought to have something that sets them apart.
If it's not a single season we're discussing then the Bucs , Bears and Seahawks don't belong.

A teams greatness is measured by how well the players responded. and that may side a little with overall greatness, like the Patriots but as a team it's the longevity . In a single game, maybe someone rises to the occasion Larry Brown. To a consistent winner?, look at how many HOF were on that team, that tells you how good the team really was compared to the others of that era.
