Ravens coach John Harbaugh says the game plan for stopping 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick comes down to this: Don’t let him get to the outside, and when you have a shot at him, don’t miss the tackle.

“We’re going to have to tackle him. We’re going to have to keep him inside of our defense,” Harbaugh said at his press conference today. “We’re not going to be able to run past him. He’s fully capable of putting 200 yards on you, just as capable as Frank Gore is or any of their running backs. He’s not just an integral part of their passing game, he’s a huge part of their run game. We’ll have a plan for it. Assignment football is going to be really important for us. Change-ups are going to be important for us. We just have to play well against him.”

ok, so they're going to protect the outside meaning they can't 'crash down' towards the middle. this should provide a little more space for Gore between tackles. so offensively, we'll see something like the Falcons game, not Packers.

wouldn't this also 'freeze' their LB's a little bit more? if so, wouldn't this help the short pass routes?

Go to the 31 minute mark. It's Skip Bayless on why Colin trademarking "Kaepernicking" RIGHT NOW is a bad idea. This ranks way up there on his all-time dumb scale and I can't believe Christian would echo him a little bit. Christian is usually pretty well spoken and a smart thinker. Thank goodness Takeo Spikes, who should be hired by a network the day he retires if he wants, makes some sense.

Yeah Skip, I'm sure that Kaepernick is wholly distracted now that he had to sign his autograph on a piece of paper. I'm sure he was the lawyer drafting the papers, too. Kaepernick should never sign autographs because he'll have to mentally make sure that the pen is pressed hard enough.

Yeah Skip, I'm sure the Ravens defense wasn't pumped up for this game, they wouldn't mind it if Kaep scored, wasn't aware that Kaep may Kaepernicking when he gets in the endzone, but NOW, they're going to be pumped and determined to stop him!

Yeah Skip, there wasn't any pressure on Kaep before this trademark, but NOW. Kaep just can't handle it. I mean, this is not like being down by 17 points in the NFCC, this is serious pressure!

Yeah Skip, he's trademarking the term because he is insecure in his future. The confidence image he's shown in action and words is just a sham.

Give me a break, Skip.

If he had never done the Kaepernicking and never scored before, predicted that he'd sore, trademarked this before he every scored, then I'd think it was premature. If Alex had gotten injured in the NFCC game and we won on a INT return and fumble returns on a defensive game to 14-13, then this might be silly. But it didn't and even then, it's his advisors or lawyers. And it's jut signing your name.

Not going to lie, I do agree with Skip & Christian on the "its not a team first move before the superbowl".... but the rest i agree with....

Greg Roman and Colin Kaepernick at the 49ers podium today, no Jim Harbaugh. He'll talk Friday, last time before 49ers head to New Orleans.

But it's not a me first move either as it's not like it really distracts Kaepernick from the task at hand. Some lawyer is handling all the paperwork and grunt work and all CK has to do is sign off on it.

If he was going around filming ads or doing TV appearances I can see that being an issue since that is taking away his time and focus but this isn't a case of that.

Jonathan Goodwin will act as enforcer

Well one perk of having Goodwin on the team is that he recently won a Super Bowl with the Saints and he knows the city of New Orleans.

Especially vital considering how few players we have with Super Bowl experience so having someone that knows the routine will help.

Not like we didn't already need to win, but one more reason I want victory is so that Skip doesn't pin the loss on something as stupid as this.

Richard Deitsch:

CBS has added Clay Matthews of the @packers to be a contributing analyst for its Super Bowl pregame coverage.

Terrible.

WTF. Nothing like adding a bitter sore loser to the coverage... well, hopefully it reduces their urge to run his stupid fathead commercial all day.

Who Wants To Go To The Super Bowl With This Awful Human Being?

Who knows if the craigslist ad is real, since it is craigslist... but it reads like some of the funny shit I've seen on craigslist during comiccon thanks to Funny or Die.

Why was he dating a Pats fan to begin with? I would have broken up before the game. Imagine having a Packers fan gf/wife? It. Just. Wouldn't. Happen. I know there were a few here or another message board that did, but not three.

Also, you're not sticking it to a girl if you are basically bringing a prostitute - payment for sexual favors. Go use your game and pick some hottie up, and then bring her to the game. Even if they hadn't broken up, would she even want to go to the game if her team lost and then her BF's team could lose or rub in a win?

I have NO problem with him being a Packers player and the possibility he still might be sore about the loss. None of that bothers me. The majority of smart football fans will be able to see through any of it that might shine through.

Listen to him speak and talk about football on camera though. He's never come across to me as being very good talking about football. I've never gotten anything valuable from him. I'm sure he'll be put in easy situations to talk about things he has some grasp on but I can't recall very many times where I've ever gotten anything valuable from him. He's not a camera person. He's not eloquent. He's not very well spoken. He can be down right quiet at times. He looks robotic on camera at times.

On the positive side, he does have recent Super Bowl experience so maybe they'll draw on that and he can surprise me there talking about that.
