Cam Inman:

Jack and Jackie Harbaugh, plus sister Joani Crean, will hold a media conference call tomorrow morning. Wonder if anyone will ask of Jim/John

Vic Fangio to John Harbaugh when the Ravens drafted Joe Flacco: "you've got your horse here to ride for the next 10 years."

Roger Craig's reaction to seeing Frank Gore reach Super Bowl: "I had tears in my eyes for him. He deserves this."

Eric Branch:

Stunning stat: #49ers Frank Gore had two rushing TDs Sunday for first time since final game of 2009 season.

-------------------

Carl Steward:

Only 2 backs drafted lower than Frank Gore have more career rushing yards, Curtis Martin and Ahman Green. And Gore should pass Green in '13.

--------------------------

Eric Branch:

Since 1991, 7 LBs have been named AP Defensive Player of Year. #49ers Vic Fangio has coached 3 during career: Swilling, R. Lewis, Suggs.

Tim Kawakami:

Alex Smith on 49ers getting to Super Bowl: "'I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little bittersweet. Yeah, I want to be out there...

More Smith: " That's what you work for. Coming into the season, that's what I was thinking about--that was the goal for me...

Add Smith: "But at the same time... you go thru so much together, especially a lot of these guys that have been here for a chunk of time...

Last Smith: "If you can't be happy for them then there's something wrong with you... I want to be out there. But that's secondary to this."

This is a good quote because if he just said that he was happy for the team and excited for them, it would seem fake, even with what I think I know about him. If he said that he should be out there, then it would be bitter and out of touch with how this thing was. I'm glad he's on our team this year and not the Falcon's backup. I think this experience is the best thing short of starting. Some people don't have the mental toughness to go through this with a good morale. I think some would just assume leave - not that anyone not named Robbins would actually do so.

In other words, I actually believe he is happy for everyone and genuinely means what he said - not just PR. I guess I'm looking at this in a way based on how I accept my failures at some things I have tried. It takes some mental toughness and he's on the public stage.

I don't like the ending or Smith crying, cause he handled it better, but the rest is good.
