Sigh.
There is a huge difference between making an opinionated judgment about the future using reasons. Never did I say I was unequivocally correct and that this is what WILL happen, rather I gave reasons why I think the market CAN turn around and why I think it SHOULD be given the chance.
That is completely different than stating that, with zero evidence, Thing A happened because of Thing B (McCain supports the Yotes because his wife sits on the board of the third largest beer company that "presumably" profits from the Yotes in town- even though according to everybody on this board nobody even goes to Yotes games)
BTW, I think this discussion has started to run its course, but the Coyotes had better attendance than the Blackhawks most seasons this decade. If attendance is the number one predictor of strength of market, there are handful of teams that should be considered for relocation as well;
Atlanta, New Jersey, Islanders, Preds, Panthers... Im sure there are more.
And if we were having this dicussion 4 or 5 years ago, the Penguins and Blackhawks would be on that list as well.
Point being, markets can change- but I think I'm about ready to wrap up this discussion.

Interesting read on the situation. Despite your stance on the wisdom of keeping a team in Phoenix, I think the Goldwater lawsuit is a stretch. Like it or not Id be willing to be the team will be in Phoenix for the next few years.
your daily update from the maverick ... doesnt sound very maverick-y ... hes a democrat right ? _lol
McCain blasts watchdog's fight over Coyotes - ArizonaSports.com
"I think Barry's fundamental philosophy was that he was a very strong conservative obviously, but he also was a great booster of the Valley," McCain said. "He always worked very hard to help our economy, to make sure that businesses and industries were attracted to our state. He was proud of our growth. Frankly, I don't believe that he would agree that we should not realize what the real world is. The real world is that people and places compete for professional teams. In a perfect world, we should never pay a dime, we should never give them any incentives and yet that's what the real world is."
"I am a proud fiscal conservative, I will match my record against anyone," the senator said. "To somehow think the Phoenix Coyotes don't need incentives to stay where they are when we are subsidizing all the stadiums for the Cactus League teams, Chase Field, University of Phoenix Stadium, all the stadiums that have been erected all over the country -- I don't like it, but that's the world we live in."
I still want them to stay so that I will be close to hockey. Of course, it's definitely better for the health of the league for them to move.
If they leave, I will pitch in to buy you NHL Center Ice.
I will look out for the hockey fan of Arizona.
Is that from a real game? They have a pretty good team, I don't understand why they don't have more fan support.
