Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
Vote passed 5-2 (for those of you scoring at home). One council member suggested doubling ticket prices to cover losses (good luck with that strategy).

The one speaker I found funny was that big burly guy who said: "The Coyotes bring in revenue to Glendale"
I'm no math expert, but how exactly does losing at least 25 million per year mean you are bringing in money?
They sure know how to bend the rules in Arizona:
NCAA point-shaving scandal at Arizona State
Goldwater going after City of Glendale over money for the Coyotes
Now this:
APNewsBreak: Fiesta Bowl fined $1m, stays in BCS - College Football - Rivals.com
And in Thrashers news (taken from Friedman's blog on cbcsports.ca)
Word is The Raine Group, which is handling the sale of the Atlanta Thrashers for Atlanta Spirit LLC, is telling prospective buyers the team can be moved because having those dates available for other events (ie. concerts) is a better financial option than hockey
no need for a rabid fan base, but needed four "sure, why not"s
In other news (soon, I hope) ... Welcome your Winnipeg Thrashers.
and in 2 or 3 years, Coyotes move where?
Maybe not that far north - Las Vegas.
- build a damn arena already!!!
All goals would be reviewed by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
Might as well drop this here (Not trying to pile on)
Report: Blue Jackets lost $25-million last season - The Globe and Mail
DOUCHEPOSTER!!! lol
this would piling on
From The Cannon: "It's also worth noting that despite these losses, and an estimated $80 million in losses over the life of the Franchise, they've yet to ask the City of Columbus to underwrite one red cent, even though they could easily point to the losses from the arena, or point up how much they bring into the city's economic picture, preferring to take care of their own business themselves." Dang, Phoenix, you got served.
Twitter is all abuzz that Hulsizer is pulling out of the Coyotes deal...and there's this.
According to Jude LaCava of Fox 10 News, Hulsizer is pulling out of the deal to purchase the Coyotes
The NHL needs a new Playbook (wink wink nudge nudge)
