If that's true with Hulsizer, then there is no guarantee the Coyotes will play another season in Phoenix. That vote last night was just to agree to cover their losses next year. If the NHL decides enough is enough finally, they can just sell to True North and be done with it.

But of course with Bettman being a spiteful idiot, that is not going to happen.

It sure looks like Bettman wants the saving of the Coyotes to be his legacy. I just don't get it. He doesn't seem to give a rats ass about Atlanta. What the hell makes Phoenix so damn special?

Think I mentioned it in one of my other posts, its the television market which is the 5th largest in North America. Bettman seems to believe if he loses the Coyotes, the NHL will lose some of its rep as a big league sports entity. Mostly all of America already knows hockey doesn't work in Phoenix, so at this point he is grasping at straws.

What Bettman doesn't understand is the local FSN station, which has the Coyotes TV rights will show the Coytes games on tape delay quite a bit. They'd rather show a college basketball game than the Coyotes.

I think it was jstew that provided a link that shows 9,000 homes in Phoenix tune it to watch the Coyotes. I'll see if I can find it.

In the end, that isn't really an issue now is it. We have all watched Bettman for years running this league. Just by watching him in interviews and press conferences, he thinks very highly of himself and is only challenged by David Stern in terms of arrogant sport figureheads.

Losing a team in that market will be such a huge blow to that giant ego of his. Who cares if they lose money or have no fan support until the playoffs.

Twitter is all abuzz that Hulsizer is pulling out of the Coyotes deal...and there's this.

According to Jude LaCava of Fox 10 News, Hulsizer is pulling out of the deal to purchase the Coyotes

The NHL needs a new Playbook (wink wink nudge nudge)

am I allowed to laugh my ass off?
