Cowboys Reportedly Release Veteran Tight End With Injury Settlement​

Unfortunately, those roster cuts have led to the of one player's tenure in Dallas. On Friday, the Cowboys released veteran tight end Jeremy Sprinkle with an injury settlement.

Sprinkle was heading into his second year with the Cowboys after re-signing with them in March. But the Cowboys had to put him on injured reserve earlier this week.

His time in Dallas ends with just three receptions for 31 yards along with two tackles on special teams. But he may still have an NFL future ahead of him once he mends.

Hendershot looked decent. I would assume they keep 3 tight ends? If they are going to run 12 personell? I have seen enough of Ferguson to know he is not a bust.

I like all 3 of Schultz, Ferguson and Hendershot as pass catchers. But, I don't like any of them as blockers and with our OL that is a skill set I'm hoping we don't ignore.

I like all 3 of Schultz, Ferguson and Hendershot as pass catchers. But, I don't like any of them as blockers and with our OL that is a skill set I'm hoping we don't ignore.

I think your point is very fair. No one really couldn't say one way or the other about the rookies, and as fans, we've all seen Schultz's efforts. I can't see any of them holding much ground in short yardage with the play designed to run behind them. I do think there is a chance two 4 year starters at D1 schools might know HOW to block, maybe even be good at it. I admit being partial towards Ferguson...just found out about Herdershot.

If this team is going to be good, several young guys are going to have to be major contributors. Not the best strategy going in but many times can be the reason for team success.

Yep,. jerruh continues to dictate who plays instead of coaches. Ball is basically a rookie that has no regular season games. I would put A Collins out there instead if Smith can't go.

Sure seems like the defense is going to have to carry the team. Some of the defenders could be used in trades as well.
