This was in January. Saban told them he would, but "It has to be now" They then approched CMB about stepping down. He told them "I will sue you, Leave me alone ,can't you see i have a record to break before I retire. Fuck Saban !! We would have won if colt wouldn't got hurt..I'm here till 2020 Bitches":suds:

The timing of the story tells the real truth.

This is not about getting Saban to Alabama. In fact, I'd say Dodds comments about Saban back around Jan/Feb were probably about this, although it was not mentioned. For those who are wondering what the comment was, it was something along the lines of "Saban isn't coming to Texas" and for fans to "get over the idea", and what not.

The reason this story is popping up now is to put pressure on Mack Brown to retire. That's why it's appearing after 2 losses on the season with a bunch of unhappy fans. I wouldn't read too much into the Saban part of it, that's not what it's actually about. If it was about Saban, it would have come out months ago, or months from now. Because there is one thing guaranteed about Saban - he doesn't like the distraction of it and wouldn't approve of it at all. This is a thing for Jan/Feb, not Sept if it was about getting Saban.

Well Saban isn't untouchable. He's jumped ship before and lied about it. I wouldn't hold my breath Bama fans.

I'm not worried. As I said, the timing of the story tells what it's really about.

He has had offers every offseason for several years and hasnt left. He makes more than all but 3 NFL coaches and is the highest paid in college, what does Texas have to offer that he cant get at Alabama?

Be glad that he wont go to Texas or the RRSO would have his named stamped all over it, he would school Stoops and you guys would be relegated to playing for second every year in the Big 12.

Even if he did jump, I will  thank him for what has done for Alabama and wish him well on his next chapter. He's not going anywhere though.

Saban responded: "That's his job. That's what I pay him for. Nothing went on that I know of. They have a coach there. Every year it's something. Last year it was the Cleveland Browns. We love Tuscaloosa. We love the University of Alabama. Quite frankly, I'm too damn old to be starting over."
