Should the SEC adopt a 9 game conference schedule?

I think 8 conference games is fine. I just think that P5 teams should no longer be allowed to play FCS teams. Play fellow P5 or G5, but FCS should be off the table. Get the P5 leagues to agree to this separate of the NCAA.

I sort of agree, but is there really much of a difference between playing Kent State or Youngstown State? I mean I guess theoretically Kent State has "better talent" and more depth with FBS scholarship rules. But the outcome is generally about the same regardless.

I'd like the see P5 schools be required to play 2 OOC games against other P5 schools.

That's just why divisions should go away, not a case for more conference games, aka just regionalising the game more when it needs to be more national.

As if we lack data points between conference members or something - we DON'T.

I’m curious how many OOC road games has Bama played against a P5 team in the last 10-15 years? It is an honest question, I know they do neutral site games, but with 4 OOC games a year, I am struggling to think of the P5 teams they have played on the road?

None since we went to Duke. And even then we went to Duke as an emergency as Duke had to cancel a game for us.

Yeah — that was the only game I could think of. That is wild that you can play 4 OOC games a year yet only have 1 OOC game on the road in 10 years against a P5 team.

I hope we got another 10 years without one.

Well, except for the year we play Duke, that's fucking stupid.

I completely agree. There was sacarsm in my ND slam.

There was not when I said Oregon St, Kansas and Illinois are no better than Mercer.
Unfortunately, Mercer would have kicked my Miners butt this year!:gaah:

DC, I don't think so.
Well, it would have had to have been a 2-0 win cause my Miners were that horrible this year. We couldn't score if the other team kepth their defense on the sideline! We were that bad on offense.

Why is that so surprising to you.

Michigan has played 11 P5 OOC teams in the last 10 years, identical to Alabama.

Of the 11 games you have played 7 are Notre Dame and 4 are home games. Other than that you have 3 Neutral site games and 5 Home Games(3 are ND)

No wonder you were pissed when Notre Dame shit canned your series, they really cut down the commute on the away games.

OF our 11 games we have 2 Away (Penn St and Duke) 1 at home and 8 Neutral site games.

What is really surprising to me is that you have only played 4 OOC P5 teams other than Notre Dame in 10 years and that the only games you have played more than 3 hours from the big house OOC have been the neutral site contests.

Now if you want to argue the merits of 2 neutrals site games vs a home and home, I am all ears, but if you want to pretend like you guys are frequent flyers, GTFO.

Probably.

I'm not a conference nut-hugger. I'm a Clemson fan and for the majority of my life everything we have accomplished has been in spite of, not because of, our conference.
Then why are you commenting on the PAC 12, or any conference when you are not a "Conference nut-hugger"?

Because it upsets conference nuthuggers like you
It didn't upset me, it just made you look like a fool, talking about a conference (PAC 12) that you know nothing about. If fact you know very little about the ACC.

Never underestimate our abilities to dig a hole and be even worse than 0-12 in the future. We are fully capable of doing that. The poor soul that inherits this team will have less talent than Southlake Carrol High School.

In all seriousness, any FBS team should always be able to recruit decent speed and skill people. Unlike defensive linemen, there are plenty of them in Texas to go around. (And parts of Cali are closer to EP than parts of Texas.) Being an old offensive lineman himself, I think Kugler recruited some of those pretty well.

Personally, I think we should hire the cheatingest recruiter we can and just live with the consequences when the NCAA finally figures it out. That'd probably take 10 years because they wouldn't even want to go to EP to investigate it. I'd just as soon forfeit some wins for recruiting violations as not ever get any to begin with!
