Should the Rams Trade for Philips Rivers?

The Rivers rumors just won't go away. The Chargers will want a QB in return I wonder if they would take Foles and swap first Rd picks with us? It more then likely would cost us a first next year too. but the thought of him being our quarterback is pretty awesome. He's a top-five quarterback in the league.

I think they want Mariotta, so the only way that happens is if he falls to the Rams at 10 which isn't going to happen anyways.

I was thinking the same thing....

And who knows, Foles could even get better than his first year as a starter.

I don't think he has missed a game in many years. He does seem to be a bit of a bitch but he is a great leader on the field. My thinking he has at least 3 or 4 years left and that works great since the Rams are close now. If you look up his stats the last 5 years or so they will blow you away. Again he is a top 5 QB. If you really think about it with our defense and him at quarterback I don't think we can be beat. I think he has a career 95 QBR.

I believe Foles is going to have a great year with us and he'll re-sign for a bigger contract. I believe we have found our QB for awhile. Any QB we select in the draft will be groomed for the future.

The reported reason that he may not re-sign with the Chargers is that his wife doesn't want to move to LA (if the Chargers move there). The Rams moving opportunities aren't going to entice the Rivers either.

Locally, Bills fans were trying to start the Rivers to Buffalo rumor mill. That's laughable, as if anyone rooted in San Diego wants to relocate to Buffalo. That's bizzaro logic.

Yes this is not probably a very likely scenario. Rivers has like 7 kids and is very family oriented. Thats why he doesn't want to move. You can't question his on field passion and toughness though. But my point is should the rams should at least entertain it. My opinion is yes because he is an elite QB in this league, and he still has some good years left. I think you guys are forgetting how good this guy is. Better off with Foles? Rivers has put up All pro #'s for over a decade. there is no point trying to compare him to Foles because you can't.

Sure, but you don't trade away draft capital for a one year rental. Rivers is a free agent next year, and most likely won't re-sign with the Rams if they move to LA. To be fair, the whole Ferguson ordeal isn't going to convince him to move to St. Louis either.

The reason the Titans are rumored to be interested is that Rivers grew up south of Nashville and would likely approve moving his family there.

Also shop the rams would instantly be in super bowl conversation this year with him being our QB with our D and a good draft this year. I would take a super bowl Win for a one year rental any day.
