Huh? Spotrac is pretty good at analyzing the contract trends in the NFL. Although they may have had Lamar a little low, I think they nailed Burrows. Although I really can’t remember much of those details now, so maybe I’m off.
Spotrac is telling you $210M over 5 years. That's an average of $42M per year. However the back end will be more expensive at maybe $46-$50M per year. That means the front end will be below the $42M average. Additionally this is an extension. Goff is already under contract for 2024 so that below $42M figure wouldn't apply until 2025. That suggests the 2024 value would be lower.

At $150M/4 years i'm suggesting he has the $26.65M deal for 2024 with a 3 year extension for $123.35M...give or take. The extension would be worth the equivalent of $38M for 2025, $41M for 2026, and $44M in 2027 but those 3 figures would end up being lower because part of that money would boost the low 2024 figure. The Lions might be more generous but they're not going to throw that 2024 deal away.

I could, (and probably will), be way off. The willingness of GMs to throw money at QBs often surprises me. The Lions could decide to pay Goff $170M+ over the next 4 years but they'd be hurting themselves.

No

37-3
33-19
56-19
25-9

They aren’t that good I guess.
They beat us in OT on a punt return. At Baltimore.

Point is Goff can’t handle solid defenses. Rams are not solid on D. But you keep drankin

Stop it! You have said it yourself.
Under pressure he is bad. A good Oline protecting him he is good. Lol on repeat

Here we will say it again:

Rams managed 5 pressures yesterday. Goff gained zero yards on those plays. Without that line, Goff is toast.

So you think Detroit should have (or at least could have) beaten them by much more and it’s Goff’s fault because he didn’t produce yards in those 5 pressure plays?

Interesting takeaway from last night’s game there.

Dude you’re helpless. We are just showing what he did/does when pressured.

I don’t see how they would be hurting themselves at the $42-$44 million mark. The cap is going to go up and there are already 8 QB’s making more than he would be making.

In year 2 or 3 he may be lucky to be in the top 12 paid QB’s in the NFL. With his current stats, that is a bargain. It also wouldn’t be hard to unload him at that number.

Yes those. But if he gets pressured it’s not good. Lol
Well, it seems that all is good to me.

I guess you expect perfection from your QB’s?? 80% completion rate, especially with nearly 30 throws is pretty darn impressive. He definitely wasn’t throwing many away.

That's Broncos/Wilson thinking. There's a huge gap from a $40M+ guy down to a Mayfield level contract. The key point is to have less than 2 years guaranteed after the 1st year of the contract and the guarantees should continue to reduce with time.

No it’s not. Wilsons contract doesn’t kick in till he’s 35. It would have been a bargain if it kicked in when Russell was 30 years old.

Yes you all got a win in the playoffs. That’s great

He's already got as many TDs in the playoffs this year as he did in 3 games in the 2019 playoffs and Super Bowl run.

Sign him!! And pass the kool aid

Huh? What about his performance last night are you being critical of?

By your philosophy will he will alway be judged by the playoffs in 2019?

Goff's only as good as his offensive line. Once they crumble, he crumbles. Saying that, he's done something no other Lions QB has done since Erik Kramer.

His age isn't relevant. You said "It also wouldn’t be hard to unload him at that number". The Broncos thought they could offload Wilson at the number they signed him to. They can't because his play is far below his salary and the contract structure means he'll be guaranteed for 2 years before the 3rd year of his contract season begins. If Goff deteriorates it could be an even larger gap between salary and true value because Goff's playing floor is exceptionally low. The Lions might not be wrong to pay Goff but they'd be wrong to pay him and have long guarantees.
