You know...to me it really says something that they would trade Heatley this quickly after getting him in the first place. They did get Havlat, who is a good player, but he's very injury prone.
Anyway, I think the declining speed and declining skills became apparent to Sharks management. They realized that they needed to unload that contract or else they would end up losing some players that could actually help them win. I think this is a good move for the Sharks but Havlat will more then likely get injured and injured often so it's not a slam dunk.
As an outside observer I get the impression Sharks fans really don't care what Havlat does next season. The fact Heatley is gone is really all that matters. Similar to how fans felt in Ottawa right?
Heatley has mean upside and is actually durable. I bet Havlat falls into the baggage carousel at the airport and is out for the year.
Urkie is it safe to say you don't like Heatley much?
It's not quite the same. They didn't have to go through the whole demanding a trade thing and the Edmonton fiasco. Now that we know what we know though. That trade really didn't effect the Sens in the grand scheme of things. Maybe it was for the best because they would have declined anyway.
But I would fucking love it if Heatley rotted in Minnesota. It would be karma at its finest.
And the Sharks just went way up on my list too. I like them a heck of a lot more now that they've gotten rid of the scum bag. Thanks for reminding me of how much I dislike Heatley btw...lol
PARTY AT MY HOUSE!!!!
I hate heatley
No problem. If it's any consolation the Isles will have a cap hit of 2.3 million from Yashin's buyout through the 2015 season.
Yeah, there's another ex-Sen that I loathe.
The difference is that the Sens really made out like bandits on that one...lol
I'M NOT IN SF!
Where u at?!?!
