If he's released.....why not make a serious run at Jimmy G when he's released? That day is drawing near.

Pete Carroll isn't getting any younger.....why tank and go through the growing pains with a young QB? He probably has 3 or so years left coaching.

Jimmy G has taken the Niners to 2 title games. You could sign him to a year to year deal or a short 2 year deal.

I don't think he's going to demand anything close to his current salary because he gets banged up. Sign him and you can have Lock or Geno back him up and play whatever games he misses.

He's a smart player, he should be able to pick up the offense pretty quickly.

I think you should want Jimmy G as long as Carroll is there (2-3 more years) and rebuild once Carroll retires.

Yes. Drew and Geno will just lead the race to the bottom.

No guarantees, though. There are a lot of shitty teams out there.

No, they should not. Jimmy G can't stay healthy. All he will do is lead them to enough wins to cause them to have to give up draft picks to try to move into position to draft one of the top QB's coming out next year.

Just take the beatings this year and use draft picks to draft for need and to trade for players. If they draft the right QB and do good filling in the rest, they can be right back where they were in Russell Wilson's younger days.

No, they should not. Just take their lumps this year and draft a QB next season. Fragile Jimmy would not last past 3 games behind a work in progress OL that the Seahawks have.

The more accurate description would be that the 49ers have taken Jimmy G to 2 title games.

My argument is Carroll has a few years left, this season would suck to get the young QB and most likely they struggle his rookie season as he adjusts to the League.....you wanna waste 2 years of Carroll's coaching to do that?

If this is for Seattle only.
No. They are tanking. Why bring in someone that helps more than Twiddle dee & Twiddle dum

If for any team. Sure. he could be a quality Back up with out the starter contract.

Because, Carroll is 70 and a little on the old side for a rebuild.....you have a bad year and take Young or Stroud and that will be another bad season, wasting 2 years of Carroll.....when he may only have 3 years left.

Pick up Jimmy G and they could compete in the NFC West.

Stafford has a baseball type elbow injury.....not good.....looks like a SB hangover.

SF? Lance has played like 15 or so games since HS.....project.....they won't do much this season.

The Cards are without Hopkins for 6 games and you have the Murray needs to do homework drama BS.....

Seattle acquires Jimmy G and they could win the wild, wild west with a 10-7 record, MAYBE even 9-8.

Seattle fans just want to suffer through the days when they were in the AFC West 1992-1994.

For the kids.....yes, they used to be in the AFC West.

How do you know how many years he has left? Have you seen him at practices...Dude runs around like he's 40.

Plus, he has significant say re: the roster, so they wouldn't be doing this unless he was on board.

if Jimmy G is released and that is the expectation since his contract becomes guaranteed once the season starts.....

Just watch.

Niners should probably stop fucking around and give Jimmy a last chance. The other guy does not look ready.
