Pavel Datsyuk
Patrice Bergeron
Jonathan Toews

I am obviously partial to Datsyuk but who do you guys think will be the winner and who is the most deserving. Any snubs?

It's about time Toews was on this list other than that all 3 candidates are deserving.

I'm not saying he's a snub since all 3 are deserving, but I hope Callahan will get a nomination one year.

How Patrik Elias has never been nominated for a Selke is beyond me.

I don't know if Anze Kopitar was snubbed, but he certainly is a responsible defensive player...

Also, I'd take any of those three Selke finalists on my team anyday...

No Penguins? That's about right, heh. I'm not surprised at the list, but I'm surprised that neither of the Staal's had a Selke-level season.

I guess I had never thought of Toews in a defensive lens, but he's never finished with less than a +11 (and that was his rookie season). That's pretty impressive.

Hey, at least a Black Hawk got nominated for something.

Datysuk will win it.

Of course I am partial to Bergeron and he is the defending Selke Award winner. With that said I think he was not as good this year as last year, still excellent but last year was better. Seeing I watch every game of one of these guys I will say I have not seen as much of the others so do not feel I have enough information to say who should win it. Of course if you listen to Jack Edwards Bergeron is the defensive forward in the NHL. Does anyone need anything else?

Pretty much no issues at all.

Come on why couldn't they add some controversy by adding Jeff Skinner and Matt Cooke.

The funny thing is you could probably put the same three players up for the Hart trophy...

Toews – +31
Datsyuk – +21
Bergeron – +24

with the defense that the Wings put on the ice this yera im shocked the Datsyuk's +/- is even close to these two guys...

The Wings gave up 6 goals more than the Bruins. When you factor in that Detroit gave up 30 Power Play goals to the Bruins 21, the goals that affect +/- are lower for Detroit.

A 3 goal difference is negligible. Boston scored 127(18PP) goals to Detroit 122(34PP) so the discrepancy goes much further than just goals surendered IMO.

I think the three candidates are fairly even so i dont think anyone can complain if one of these three win it.

Based on prior play I'd vote Datsyuk. Just didn't get much of a chance to watch these guys this year.
