I think its just for sweeps week.
Crossovers are a great way to get some attention during sweeps. Cliffhangers are another way to get more attention. Fun stuff.

That's weird, my wife is not due home for another few hours and I think I just heard glass breaking downstairs. It almost sounds as if someone is coming up the steps and coming towa

If you don't know who he is, he was the leader of the punk band Black Flag and has been on Spoken Word tours since the early 90s. If you have a chance, listen to him. He's a pretty sharp dude.

I think we have to give the kids a pass on this one, I mean it's one thing to be lucid and chanting stupid stuff, but when you're pounding back alcohol, the mob mentality combined with clouded judgment makes for a toxic cocktail.

I blame the anarchists from out of town :thumb:

Mike Emerick would call him a product of Washington, DC! We do go go, we do punk.

And Pierre would point out that Black Flag technically started in California, before you punched Pierre in the face. Rollins is a DC boy through and through.

Minor Threat and Bad Brains are also DC bands. Pretty much everything that matters in American Punk Music came from or has ties to DC. 'cept Dead Kennedys of course...

Are we counting simply playing a show in DC as having ties to DC?

No, bands with members from, were formed in, or made their name in, DC. Why? Who'd I miss?

And to be clear, I consider Bad Brains, Black Flag, Minor Threat and Dead Kennedys to be "everything that matters" in American Punk. :D

There were others I liked for sure. But those guys...

I guess if that's how it's being defined...:rolleyes2:

The most obvious would be the Ramones. Depending on how far we're willing to cast the net around American Punk you'd have to get into bands like Misfits, Social Distortion, and Bad Religion.

Really if we're including early hardcore as part of punk - which IMO is fair and what you're doing with Bad Brains, Black Flag, and Minor Threat, the SoCal and NYC scenes were just too big to ignore.

I never got into the Ramones. Can't believe I forgot the Misfits. And I don't know if I consider Social D punk, what with their newer grungy rockabilly stuff.
