Is there a different angle somewhere, because I can watch this over and over and I'm seeing the same thing. Helmet to helmet contact when it was completely unnecessary. A cheap shot. I"m not some hater or anything. Clowney is one of my favorite guys on defense to watch because he makes some big plays. But look at the play.

Stop it at the 3 - 4 second mark and you can see he is leading with his shoulder first in the middle of his back and his head hits after that is incidental

I'd say Clowney was more reckless than anything and I don't think he intended to really knock Wentz out or seriously hurt him.

The NFL has struggled all season with this new rule that says you’re giving yourself up even when you dive forward while also allowing people to hit players that have, by rule, given themselves up. They should probably go back to the old rules.
