True, but also with Carroll saying that it basically screamed: "We didn't have a gameplan on defense and don't understand our weaknesses and what teams will likely do."

It's obvious going forward EVERY team is going to pass non-stop against Seattle after what the Bills did... at least until we prove we can stop it.

Seahawks have a Defensive passing game Coordinator coach on this team, his name is Andre Curtis and should without a doubt be in the fire right now along with Secondary & Nickel specialist Nick Sorensen. Both these guys should have been shipped out of town yesterday with walking papers. Even the one game where the Defense looked kind of ok was against a bad team right now.

one coaches up the CB's and Safeties ( who have stunk ) and the other is the passing game coordinator for the defense which looks to have no coordination at all. In my eyes these two guys are as much to blame as ANYONE and it's shocking when you look at when they became these positional "coaches" on this team. That should be the BIGGEST BRIGHTEST flag out there for Pete and the Front Office!

He doesn't help the weakness of this team which is the pass coverage. Also it's not like he is some 8+ sack DT he is a run stuffing DT that eats up space. This is his 9th year and he has a total of 11 sacks and i just didn't see someone playing badly enough at DT to replace. Snacks is not a player that can also chase and pretty much is a full time run stuffing DT on a defense that only see's passes being thrown against them lol.
True but he's a fresh body and they could use that at this time of year.

At whose expense though? I think they bring him up now though, because we got a guy dealing now with a high ankle sprain and we ALL know how those things go. High ankle sprains can stick around all year and sometimes need surgery to fix.

Our defense has been consistently bad, it’s been consistently underperforming, unorganized, no identity, no belief, lack of heart, lost at times.... we’re historically bad, setting sad records, 32nd in the league outta 32 teams.... Sadly Pete isn’t gonna hold any coaches accountable, he’s gonna ride this shit show out.. Changing things up won’t guarantee our defense suddenly turns around, I think we all know that, BUT keeping things exactly like they are guarantee us the exact same result, it won’t change, that we do know .... Pete is making a huge mistake here I think, and one that’s taking hope away from this team from potentially improving on defense.... This is another Blair Walsh moment for Pete and I’m getting $&@$@ tired of this &&&$&!!

Interesting take by Brock Huard on the Seahawks defensive woes...

The response: “I would say Pete Carroll and the staff through eight games is not teaching this defense very well. I would say that very, very clearly.”

"Just reaching out to some of my folks and friends that were defensive players,” Huard said, “I come at it many times from a QB perspective, an offensive perspective, so I do try to balance how hard defense can be to play by bouncing it off some of my defensive peers, and to hear what they’re saying a little bit off the record is like ‘Wow.’ … It’s bad – the technique is bad, the tackling is bad, the fundamentals are bad, the scheme is bad, the awareness in the situations.”

Picking up Goff who faces the Hawks D this week is a smart move thats not joke. Goff could when your game for you. He might put up 30-40 points for you against the Hawks Defense!

Seahawks need to do something about the defense.

I know there is not all that much we can do given the injuries and current roster construction, but routinely playing our corners 10-15 yards off the line of scrimmage isn't exactly helping us. There were so many times the Bills were able to run a simple curl route and the ball was delivered to the WR before the CB even had an opportunity to close on the ball. I don't have all that much faith in the CBs we've been playing, but the way the defense has been called just makes it so easy for opposing offenses to get easy completions.

Yeah but now do I roll with double points, Roethlisberger and Claypool, or go with Goff?

i always liked going with the double points set-up but my god the Hawks defense is so very poor against the pass you almost have to go with who ever the QB is facing the Hawks Defense.

god thats so sad, how the once mighty has fallen.... ALL THE WAY to the bottom. One of the greatest defenses ever to right now holding onto THE WORST defense ever. Doesn't feel like Seahawks football, team feels to soft on the defense with no pride other than like 3 players. It's like they just don't believe in what they are doing.

True... I would even take Daniel Jones and Flacco against the Hawks right now... They're both coming up...

Picked up Goff myself this week. It's just reality that QBs will do well against this D. Hope the MVP can outplay him when it counts and we take the game.

Having a real RB will help a lot in that regard. This team's running game needs to be what the passing game has been when we had Lynch: Not top 10, but good enough to have balance. We aren't that with Homer and Dallas.

Yeah Chris Carson's presence or lack there of has hurt this team and you can see it. He adds more toughness just to the whole style they play. I will be glad when he is back and at 100% again. Hyde is a good fill in but he also has been MIA for the most part.

Yes this never gets talked about if you really watch all the games closely this offense without a charged running game is not as intimidating. I remember we were in the redzone against the bills in the 1st quarter on a 3rd and 1 and Dallas couldn't convert which gave the Bills so much momentum. The touchdown where Russ had to QB sneak it into the endzone on 3rd down to me screamed desperation. I know Carson has to be frustrated because this is his contract year and from the looks of things he isn't going to cash in on big time money not having a 100 yard game all seasons mixed with injuries.

The annoying thing with the Hyde signing was that he is supposed to be the insurance guy we only gave him 31 carries and now he is hurt too. When the hell is Penny coming back its been 9 weeks.

Well, it hasn't really been 9 weeks. His timeframe for possible return started after the bye, and it didn't sound like he was only a week or 2 away at that point, so I'd say start hoping for him in the next 2 or 3 weeks realistically.

I just hope for few major injuries from this point on so we can be as healthy as possible for the home stretch and playoffs. Get 1, hopefully 2 wins these next 2 weeks and then we get 3 easy games to get right before hitting that run.
