Figured we should have a overall regular season thread.

Lots of national figures are giving Pete credit for letting Russ cook early in the game and he definitely does deserve a lot of credit for changing his strategy in that regard.

But he also deserves credit for changing his in the lead tactics and being aggressive in that regard as well. Someone clearly got to Pete and convinced him that playing conservative early or with the lead is not a great approach.

It may be interesting to note that we threw a total of 35 passes, which is really not much more than what we averaged last year per game. The big difference, of course, is how much we threw it early as a ration of pass to run. We kind of started like that a couple years ago as well with an 0-2 start that led us back to heavy running and/or more conservative play in 1st halves, but we may be a little more talented at RB, WR & TE now vs then.

In this next game, I'm looking forward to seeing how the D checks out against a completely different type of offense. With both Wagner and Adams on the field, I feel we may be particularly equipped to deal with a running QB that doesn't have anything close to the kind of weapons that Matt Ryan has.

Good to see the aggressiveness. Hawks have the talent to put up points so hopefully this will be Pete's MO and continue let Russ do his thing early and still be able to run effectively.

We'll see how the game script looks for the Pats. Coming out firing worked out well particularly because Atlanta's secondary is weak. Not so with NE.

I have to think we see a lot more running in week 2, especially if it's effective early.

It also not a bad idea to show Bill Belichick something different from what you put on tape the week prior.

The Falcons really did a nice job on making the Hawks running game ineffective and showing that they were going to stop that part of the game. so the Hawks flipped the switch, I believe they will be more willing to make that switch this year rather than waiting till the 4th quarter and then asking Wilson to bail them out. I also believe though had the Hawks had more success earlier running the ball ( not counting Wilsons runs mind you ) they might have done so more often. Situational football i mean that's just how you should always play it but we have seen painfully so how Pete never wanted to give up on the run, even with us screaming that throwing will open up the running game more. Then we watch them struggle in the 4th quarter to pull out another come from behind victory! how many does Russ have now? Something like 32? More?

Yeah just looked it up he has 28 game winning drives in the regular season and 4 in the postseason for 32. My god thats 2 seasons full of game winning drives!

Interesting. When you ask who the most clutch QB in football is these days, I think most would say Aaron Rodgers.

I'd be curious to know how his numbers add up vs Russell's.

To me, the true definition of offensive balance is being able to use the run to set up the pass and also the pass to set up the run -- being able to dictate the game to the defense either way. This team should be able to do that as well as any version of Seahawks teams we have seen in a long, long time.

This next matchup should be a decent test. NE has a quality secondary, not sure of their health coming into the game. And of course Belichick prepares as good as anyone maybe ever.

To be honest, I think Rodgers has been the best QB over the last 10 years but I'm not sure I would call him the most clutch QB. He tends to take the lead and hold it. He isn't really know for his come back skills.

Air quality seems to be improving. Appears the prevailing meteorologist opinion is that shouldn't be a threat to the game by the weekend.

Well we all ready saw Russ ask for more Weapons and or more talent this past offseason and he did the same last year just wasn't as vocal as it was this year. To me most of that report is just old news. Damn straight Russ wants studs around him every Starting QB in the NFL does just some don't have the past success as the top QB's Like a Wilson, Rogers, Brees and Brady so they don't speak out as much.

Sure, but DK looks like he could be an absolute star at WR without the headache that AB brings along.

This offense is pretty loaded at skill positions as it is. He needs another great player on the line.

not favorably for Rodgers. He has 25 GWD in 124 career wins which is basically 1 in 5 while Russell’s sitting at 1 in 3 and is already 7 ahead with 7 years less experience.

What do you think about those screen passes last week? Dang, it is great to see 3 biggies out in front of the ball carrier.

For you guys!!!

That was my backyard and the dog park behind it this morning.

But yah I hope it clears up by this weekend but it makes me think and ask. Does C-Link have a retractable roof?

I loved the why we Used Adams. He was a wrecking ball. I would say have more of this vs the Patriots because IF we make Cam a passer. We got this game....

BTW. did anyone catch Billicheck comments on Russ today?

No C-link does not have a retractable roof, whatever the weather is, is what they will be playing in .

It why we got this a few years ago

The thing I absolutely hate about our offense, and this goes back to Bevell, is the WR bubble screens with no blockers. What a waste of a play.

I've been asking for a real screen game for years and that Carson TD was a thing of beauty! 3 giant Olinemen plowing the field for the ball carrier.
