Harbaugh would be the best choice, only issue right now I see hiring Harbaugh is he would probably want total control like Pete had when coming here, which means Schneider would need to let go of his new found power of having control of all the draft picks …
I don't see Harbs coming here just for that fact. Harbs has a better chance having full control in LA.

Agreed. Maybe picks up a coordinator position but most likely he'll sit out a year.
He's been a head coach the past 18 seasons straight. I can't think of any HC with that much tenure who went back to be a coordinator.

Probably almost never but I can't see any team hiring him. Maybe retires and goes into broadcasting.

According to Adam Schefter, the Hawks kicked off their search for a new HC today by requesting interviews with the following prospects
  • Dan Quinn, Cowboys DC
  • Frank Smith, Miami OC
  • Ejiro Evero, Carolina DC
  • ike Kafka, NY Giants OC
  • Raheem Morris, LA Rams DC

Cool deal... mostly the same names that have been brought up for the other vacancies. Mike Macdonald seems to be one of the more in-demand coordinators but is still in the playoffs. I wonder if this is going to be a slow roll until whenever it is the Ravens are done, or if they're going to get the best guy they can among those currently available so as not to be left holding the bag if they whiff on Macdonald.

Is it me or is Frank Smith a clone of Lyle Alzado?

I think the FO waits but if this goes quickly than it's probably Quinn.

Yeah, probably the case. The reactions in here would be entertaining because apparently he's damaged goods now that Dallas flopped last night.

To me, there is pretty great risk in waiting, and that's what I was getting at. Macdonald might be the best candidate, but only 1 team can hire him. If the Ravens are in the SB, then it's almost a month until you can get at him. Who else is left at that point that you can turn to if you lose out on Macdonald? Is it too early for DeBoer to leave Bama for the NFL? :)

I'm good with Quinn coming in. He can reestablish our defense and bring in a young assistant OC from a good offensive team. If we wait for say MacDonald than FO better be quick on the horn and have a contract in hand as soon as he gets off the plane.

What about Brian Johnson.

OC of Philly?
Hard pass. No creativity very bland offense and they abandon the run way too quickly. Also very predictable. Case in point the Hawks D knew what plays where going to be run.
