Ehh i don't know about that. Hes also shooting for 4 straight competitive years here. And this is not a loaded roster. Hes certainly not perfect but he's far from bad too.

    No. Stop it.

For one i really doubt he'd leave State College.

But Id much rather have him there anyways. At least I have hope with PSU.

I think his game coaching is actually pretty good and underrated (excluding that 4th and 5 that i dont wanna talk about).

But you are right hes more of a recruiter so I dont think hes agreat fit here. he is am amazing recruiter though.

Off topic from the redskins but..what are your expectations for the program? I have a lot of faith in Franklin to be honest. Love that dude.

Perennial top 20, often top 10. He is a great recruiter. Great recruiter and at a great place to recruit. Good head coach/administrator, needs to have a good OC and DC. They will have at least a shot most years to get into the playoffs. They have to beat OSU and should have this year. Great game but couldn't stop the screen game Ohio State found after Sanders fumble. Kids like him, I know Marcus Allen a little bit and he liked him a lot. Clearly McSorely loves him. No one else wanted to let Trace play QB.

Any sensible fan was onboard with Cousins staying, unfortunately BA burned that bridge. Smith will be fine for now and Monday's game is what it is. I believe the teams performance is typical of a Gruden coached team and this is what we have seen for the past 5 seasons. I for one am ready to move on after this year.

Yeah, no dispute from me man, I did note that I believe that Franklin needs more time at PS because of the exact things that you noted as his weaknesses. That latest blunder was mind numbing. Shaw on the other hand, I think is ready now, he basically runs a NFL style offense and he not given to make obvious mistakes. I've been touting him for a few years now, but you're right about the head of the snake. Maybe before we're both taking that dirt nap Snyder will hire a dedicated GM and a HC like Shaw, we can only hope!

Fair enough, in fact I did mention that he definitely needs more time at PS.

Oh how soon we forget the Shanahan and Zorn years when we hoped for mediocracy, remember? Now that we have it, Oh well, such is the life of NFL fandom.

The current roster is better than years past tho. Also, winning 28/64 games is not competitive. Gruden is bad!

As I mentioned earlier I see Gruden as Norv part 2. I think he is a good OC but wonder if he isn't trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

The comment about dissecting Smith's brain the other day was weird. You should have known what you were getting before the trade was made. History says Smith is a game manager type that doesn't make big mistakes. Through 4 games that is exactly who he looks like.

It is time for a no BS coach like Marty or Joe. I thought Shanahan was that but I think they handcuffed him from the beginning. I have no idea who to go get now and not sure I would wish the job on anybody I like.

There are a lot of issues here. The only way I see Gruden being back after this year is if they cut ties with BA and give Gruden one more year. Unless of course they win out. :noidea::D

    Is it?

We have a worse QB, worse WRs, and worse CBs.

You could argue we're better some places but those are 3 big spots to be worse at.

He has a winning record over the past 3 seasons so yes he has made us competitive.

Oh for fuck's sake. That winning record shit is as weak and counterfeit as a 3 dollar bill

A funky ass 24-23-1 is that hellified 3 years of "Winning!" of which you speak. What's Gruden's record the last 4 years 28-35-1 or shitty and below .500. What's Gruden's record over the last 2 seasons? another shitty and under .500 at 15-16-1.A winning record over the last 3 years....get the fuck outta here with that weak bullshit. At present the Skins under Gruden are 30-37-1.

    Huh? It's literally 100% accurate.

And i think there are very obvious reasons to throw out year 1. That team was supposed to be awful thats why gruden was brought in. Holding that over him is far more ridiculous than just saying hey heres what his record is over the past 3 years.

I also don't understand what the anti gruden people think his record SHOULD be with the talent he has. We arent exactly loaded with talent here guys and thats not on gruden.

I hold him accountable for the preparedness of his team. Do you think this team is always prepared?

    No.

Dont get me wrong. There are fair criticisms of Gruden. I made a thread just the other day criticism.

But the freak outs calling for his hard are just stupid.

Like what is so hard about admitting hes also done a lot of good here?

Gruden is a good coach. I'm just not sure he is a good head coach. He has had 5 years and we still see the same issues crop up with his teams in big games. At some point one has to start questioning if he has the ability to lead a team to the playoffs and beyond.

Ehb5, stop making excuses for a below avg coach. It doesn't look good.

Im making excuses? I think everything ive said was completely true.

Also it doesnt look good? What is this a glamour contest? I thought we were debating football. Whats true is all that matters. I'm sorry reality bothers you that much i guess?

And why is he below average? Because the fact that hes been able to keep this trash heap of a franchise competitive suggests otherwise.

What exactly do you think his record each year should have been with the roster we had?
