Hurns could be an interesting pickup - if he had played in 2020. I'd be looking for someone who knows their playbook!

There are quite a few players with no more guaranteed money on their contract. A lot of them will stay anyways.
Dolphins have a lot of key injuries. That will make for some hard decisions at cuts!

According the NFLTradeRumors, The New Orleans Saints and Patriots are discussing Stephon Gilmore.

Question. If he's on the Patriots' PUP, does he remain on it for the first four games with N.O.?

Because he did not make the 53 man roster, he cannot be brough back until after 6 weeks.
If they had put him on the 53 and IR'd him after Sep 1st, he could have come back in 3 weeks.

Either way, he has not played in a year and will likely need a couple of weeks practice. He cannot practice while on IR.

Anyway, the latest thing is that the patriots will take a 4th round pick if the Saints give them WR Tre'Quan Smith otherwise it's a 2022 2nd round pick. Without Brees, the Saints might be willing to give a four year WR that's 6'2" 210#.

Can't happen. 2 reasons:
1) He cannot play for anybody for at least 6 weeks.
2) He cannot cover anybody until he practices. "Shutting down"after a year of watching TV is not going to happen.

Not a "NEED" per se, but he would improve our pass rush and run stop.
Keeping rush in check forces an offense to pass more.
With a better pass rush, QB's would be forced to throw sooner and make riskier throws.

So it would balance out.
