About a potential Gogo/Neal deal. DO IT! OH DEAR GOD DO IT! He's signed another year at $2.1 (i think?) million. And do it quickly, before Dallas smarts up and realizes he's a horrible DEFENSEman. Btw, I've heard this multiple times now. TFP had something on it that I read yesterday, and this morning it was mentioned in Dreger's report. AND Bobby Mac is talking about it.

That's why I was sort of shocked by the rumor. And it's a high end rumor if both Dreger and Mackenzie are sniffing around. I think there's more to it than just those two however. Neal's cheap (2.8, not 2.1), signed through next year, AND an RFA after that. In other words, we'd need to sweeten the pot.

I agree Pix, there is no way the Stars make that deal straight up. Maybe a pick or prospect. Shero has stated numerous times in the past Goligoski is untouchable. I don't get that at all, the guy has the smarts and the talent, but he just can't get it all to click. He always takes that extra half second to decide what to do with the puck etc... and in the NHL that is unacceptable. That indecisiveness will kill you every time.

I would like to see Goose finally put it all together, but at this point i would rather see Neal in a penguin uniform. Or Jamie Benn or Loui Eriksson.....

PFFT. If we're trading Despres too (which Shero just won't, considering the kid was seriously contending to be part of the Pens top 6) we're getting Eriksson, a scrub, and a 1st rounder. Okay, that's an exaggeration, but Despres is basically untouchable.

You think Neal is going to make up for all of the other loses? Even if this miracle of a deal went through I dont think its going to be enough to salvage this disaster of a season Pittsburgh is having. With Brad Richards out the last thing they're going to do is get rid of scoring.

I dont think it is going to help the Pens that much, but it is a big steal and he could help in the future.
