Rumor about Thursday's game

There are whispers that because of the storm that we're getting on Thursday, they might move the Iowa/Husker game to Wednesday night or earlier in the day on Thursday. That would mean no TV if it's on Wednesday.

Iowa school officials are saying that nothing is imminent but both coaches mentioned it as a possibility already.

Iowa officials said this morning nothing is imminent about moving the school’s men’s basketball game at Nebraska from Thursday to Wednesday to avoid a major snowstorm in the region. However Nebraska Coach Tim Miles said late morning that school administrators are looking at possibly moving the game date.

It's really too early to make the call.

The center of the storm is still over the Gulf of Alaska, willl eventually drop down over the 4 corners over the next couple of days before making it's trek northeast across the Plains. A lot can happen between now and then in determining where the heaviest snow band will be.

There's gonna be snow from this system, just where and how much is an unknown this early..

TWC has cranked up the hype machine now that they've started naming winter storms like hurricanes (without the blessing of the NWS btw). They're doing it for ratings.

The Nor'easter that hit the NE about a week ago dumping up to 40" of snow in some parts was worthy of the hype, but that's the only one this season. Not worthy of a name though. Anyone affected generally remembers them as "The Blizzard of insert year", or "The nor'easter of insert year" which is what people will still do when referencing them even by name. Charlie in 2013 yada yada...

It's how we refer to The Blizzard of 75'. Makes more sense.

In any event, my snowblower's got a new auger belt and is gassed up ready to go.
