How 'bout when they nixed Marriucci's plan to buy the team championship belt buckles for winning the division in 2000 or was it 2001? The name York is synonymous with cheapness.The 49ers actually spent some cash. Richburg got a big contract for a center. They probably overpaid for McKinnon. And Sherman's contract wouldn't be as cheap if he made incentives. Some of the FA acquisitons have been questionable but I've never bought into the idea that it was Jed York who was limiting how much the FO could spend. The lack of spending during Baalke's tenure was a result of his insistence on sticking to his blueprint.
