I'm going to some festivals. Hope I don't get a DUI. Damn Catholics...

Surely a professional drinker such as you would have a regular cabbie to take you around......or do you subscibe to the Bob Huggins school of drinking and driving?

Bailey now 6-1 in his last 7.

Seems to have turned it around a bit.

This team still can' thit. Homer had to pitch 8 and drive in 2 for the win.

Tonight he can play 1B and bat cleanup. He is, afterall, bringing home mad cash this year. I was actually quite impressed with Homer yesterday. The last two innings he was a bulldog and really went after it.

Really though, would we be much worse with Mike Leake and Homer Bailey platooning in left field?

They should make an offer for Marlon Byrd. He's a guy they should have claimed last year off waivers, if for nothing else, to prevent the Pirates from claiming him.

He's owed 8M this year (Proated of course), 8M next year, and then a club option for 6M in 2016 (With a buyout I am sure).

Offer them Ludwick and a low level player. He makes less than Byrd this year, and the Phillies can decline his 2015 option, and save nearly 10MM over the life of Byrd's contract by swapping players. This allows the Phillies to shave money off their payroll the rest of this year, plus 2 more years. For a team that is strapped with some bad contracts (Utley, Howard) on players that are not going to help them win with what they got, they need to free up some cash.

Makes too much sense for the Reds to actually think about, though. They believe someone will magically start hitting the ball and win the LF job... :L

Great planning by the Reds once again. Down four, and they manage to have two of their first three batters in the ninth to be automatic outs. Will someone please remove Ramon Santiago from this team, and take Roger Bernadina with him? I could do better than Bernadina, and I'm sure CincyFan78 could hit better than Santiago.

And while they are at it, please, please take Ryan Ludwick to a universe far, far away.......

Eliminations:

Ludwick
Bernadina
Santiago
Lutz
Heisey
SMarshall
Hoover

Replace with seven lukewarm bodies......honestly, it couldn't be any worse than these stiffs that comprise 28% of our big league roster......none of these guys could hook on anywhere if released.....

5-5 on the homestand...... Again, good enough to keep .500 in reaching distance but not nearly good enough to inspire confidence for future contention. This team is flawed and the fans are apathetic.

Thank God we scored in the ninth, or Hoover would surely have come in and lost it.

The Brewers are our bitch, just as we are the Cards' bitch.
