My gut tells me Boras is advising Joey to reject pretty much any extension and to hit the open market when it's his time.

I still think with a year and a half to go they might be rushing it a bit. Joey needs to show something more. He is still avg.223 and on pace to K 250 times this yr. That does not warrant much imo. Now, that does not mean he won't get better and deserve more but as of today, no.

Yep. Strikeouts don't bother me. It is an out. Lots of great hitters have struck out a lot. I believe Reggie Jackson is the all time leader in strikeouts.
