Doesn’t seem now quite the haul does it
the four we are getting are still the top 4 pieces of the original deal, so that's something I guess.

All the players coming here are in A ball and their expected upside is to be solid role players. The chance of them being valuable players is slim.
Nice work Daniels!
Solid role players for positions that we have a lot of decent to good prospects for already. Role players are cheap on the free agent market if you don't produce any.All the players coming here are in A ball and their expected upside is to be solid role players. I didn't find him that impressive and neither of us cared for what the Yankees system had. Apparently they liked him better than what the Yankees always offer up.didnt the Marlins take just one player for Marte you didn't even find that impressive? Them getting shot down for asking for multiple players seems like they overplayed their hand .
I would have demanded RHP Luis Gil In A ball straight up or no deal. Still had Friday to work this deal or wait until winter. Daniels flinched.the Daniels thing aside, the idea that Joey Gallo was going to bring back multiple future stars is just absurd.
also, solid role players are something that we don't have at the MLB level right now, so adding more of them really isn't the knock you think it is.
Feel for ya’ Bennie. Not too crazy about this trade myself. Felt rushed and with the wrong team(s).I didn't find him that impressive and neither of us cared for what the Yankees system had. Apparently they liked him better than what the Yankees always offer up.
It seems like the Yankees have always gotten the best of us in trades, all the way back to when we traded away Dave Righetti and then the next year we were forced to throw in Oscar Gamble because someone in our front office named a PTBNL in a trade.Feel for ya’ Bennie. Not too crazy about this trade myself. Felt rushed and with the wrong team(s).
Appreciate the researchFrom Keith Law:
The Yankees took Trevor Hauver in the third round last year out of Arizona State and have tried to convert the left fielder to second base, but it hasn’t worked, so he still has no position, and he’s 22 in Low A.
Right-hander Glenn Otto used to come from a high slot that gave him a lot of deception, but this year the Yankees lowered his slot somewhat and gave him a slider, which is a lot easier for him to throw where his arm is now, and that pitch and his curveball can both show plus. He’s 90-92 mph, touching 94, with plus control, probably a reliever in the end, but also probably ready right now. Otto is a Rice product, from the Wayne Graham era, so of course he’s been hurt multiple times in pro ball, throwing 71 1/3 innings total between 2018 and 2019.
Shortstop Josh Smith was the Yankees’ second-round pick in 2019 out of LSU, but for some reason he started the year in Low A despite being 23 (he’ll turn 24 on Aug. 7) and a college product; he’s a plus runner who has the power for 10-15 homers a year, with good feel to hit and at least 60 defense at short. The Yankees have tweaked his swing to boost his launch angle, but that may not be the ideal approach for his size and strength. He should go directly to Double A, given his age and production this year.
Ezequiel Duran is the best of the prospects reportedly heading to Texas, a second baseman with legit pop despite being only 5-foot-10 or so. He could play shortstop in a pinch, with great hands and actions but an arm that might be too light for the position. He swings hard and has consistently posted strong exit velocities, with good balance through contact and 20-homer upside. He strikes out a little too often right now.
I am so sick of Daniels. Your right we simply did not get enoughI would have demanded RHP Luis Gil In A ball straight up or no deal. Still had Friday to work this deal or wait until winter. Daniels flinched.
For sure Murph Daniels has overextended his stay.Texas Rangers FO just never seems to get it right. Ready for a total overhaul of the entire organization
I think so. They were getting ready to buy Joely out ar the end of this year anyway.Does it help that we kept king and gave up Joely instead?
