Then I would have gladly taken the comp pick.

Not to me. We need quality over quantity at this point.that seems counterproductive to what the team is trying to accomplish
didn't pick up one guy who can be a star in the league.
Gallo could have been had they went for quality over quantity. Those SD prospects that we were discussing earlier have that potential. The Rangers didn't/don't have any players that could be traded for a future star.
Hope Gibson will get us somebody of need and valueWe just signed Leiter. We need to start planning for the near future as of 2022 and 2023 and not five or six years down the line as the FO seemed to be. IMO
Sure, we can say it is a bad trade. It might work out differently, but based on organizational philosophy as shown by the trade, I think it is bad. Others may have a different philosophy than I do and see it differently, and that is fine. For the record, I'm not defending the trade. It's a high risk trade that could pay off at some point, but even if it does it'll be awhile. It could very well backfire big time. But we don't know that yet.
it's not the trade we would have done and certainly not one we expected. But we can't say it's a bad one, not as of now. Could be, absolutely. But it could also work out pretty damn good.
Well, with Fangraphs it did. They have always had the most unusual rankings for us compared to other services for some reason.our farm system went from 19th overall ranking to 15th overall. As long as that continues to get better, that should bode well for the major league teams future too.
I would value King much higher and I guess the Yankees did too.It is weird that we switched out a guy who is hurt for a guy who isn't, and lost two prospects as a result:
