I would Let Smith and Bubba platoon LF and lead off until Zavala is ready to take over LF.
I would look to acquire and extend Rhys Hoskins for 1B. He’s had an OPS over .800 every year and his 1B defense is pretty good. Move Lowe to DH.
Phillies would want to do this because they have Castellanos and Schwarber locked up long term and their defense sucks. They need 1B open for one of them.

I would use Duran, Huff, Foscue, Winn, Harris, Roby, Vanasco, and Ornelas/Saggese to acquire Hoskins and a SP.

C-Heim-2027
1B-Hoskins-2028
2B-Semien-2028
SS-Seager-2031
3B-Jung-2028-2029 depending ROY
LF-Zavala-2029
CF-Leody-2027
RF-Adolis-2027
DH-Lowe-2027

1.Perez-2025
2.Gray-2025
3.Acquired pitcher-2025
4.Dunning-2027
5. Otto-2028

Retain- Leiter, White, Porter, Rocker, Garcia, Bratt, Acker plus many others for SP

Retain- Carter, Acuna, Gutierrez, Smith, Thompson plus many others for postion players.

Wouldn’t really need many youngsters coming up for quite awhile with the amount of long term players in the Majors..
The 2023 draft I would go high school players predominantly. 2024 mixture, 2025 college, 2026 college.. to start reloading

We’re going to have to trade a decent amount of prospects anyway.. due to roster constraints and rule 5 and just needing to fill a couple of spots..

This on the heels of his last start in which he struck out 10 in 5 innings. He didn't give up any hits in that one either.

Now, that must be some pitcher. Maybe another Cy Young.

I don’t get it ? Lol
I mentioned those 8 prospects for Hoskins and a SP.
4 per trade.
Not all 8 for one pitcher ?
I would do Harris, Foscue, Roby and Vanasco for Hoskins.
Then Duran, Ornelas, Winn and Huff for a really good controllable SP.

Going to keep an eye on this one. That’s a lot of strikeouts
He was recently listed as our 23rd best prospect by MLB. That is the first time I have seen him in a top 30 for us.
Best tools

Players are graded on a 20-80 scouting scale for future tools -- 20-30 is well below average, 40 is below average, 50 is average, 60 is above average and 70-80 is well above average. Players in parentheses have the same grade.

Hit: 60 -- Evan Carter (Josh Jung)
Power: 55 -- Josh Jung (Justin Foscue, Anthony Gutierrez, Dustin Harris)
Run: 70 -- Bubba Thompson
Arm: 60 -- Yeison Morrobel (Luisangel Acuna, Anthony Gutierrez)
Defense: 60 -- Bubba Thompson
Fastball: 70 -- Emiliano Teodo (Brock Porter)
Curveball: 60 -- Emiliano Teodo (Kumar Rocker, Ricky Vanasco, Cole Winn)
Slider: 70 -- Kumar Rocker
Changeup: 60 -- Cole Ragans (Brock Porter)
Control: 55 -- Marc Church

I would like to see both Cody and Burke have a shot at the rotation next year.

Leody is in CF for now right? I am not saying he possesses it indefinitely. He has cooled down IMO
He has but he is still learning at the big league level and he only turns 24 in September. I like his bat speed along with his speed in general. We need to keep him around.

Up until a few weeks ago the Rangers and most everyone else in the business considered guys like Jung, Foscue, Smith, Duran, and Harris as far and away better prospects than Leody. I still see it that way.

I think Taveras will have a higher career WAR than any of those besides Jung.
