If Arihara proves his last outing wasn't a fluke I would raise him considerably. I think Howard may make a decent reliever.

I have always thought he was better suited to the pen. Now, if they decide to move on completely from him, that is fine with me. He certainly wouldn't be the first guy to fail miserably at starting and wind up as a decent reliever if that happened.

Would like to see him getting max AB's.Need to see if his start was a lot of luck or if he is a genuine hitter. Seems strange a player that good would be given up for Bush. Let's hope he is for real.

Some notes from Scott Lucas:

Winn threw 23 of 36 fastballs for strikes, a much better proportion than usual during his extended control hiatus. He also delivered 32 sliders, six of which missed bats. He walked or hit three of 23 batters and had to fight through a messy 5th, but relative to some of his recent outings, this one was okay given the unfriendly location.

Leiter concluded his night in the 6th with a double-wallk-single-walk sequence because he doesn't want us to enjoy our lives. Between that stretch and a solo homer with one out in the 1st, Leiter retired 13 of 17, eight via strikeout. The slider has been a weapon lately, and the curve is regaining some of that Vandy form. Another solid night, on the whole.

Good questions needing answers. I do hope Bubba can hit and play LF. That would give us a top notch OF.
Should move Lowe to DH but have no idea who would play 1B.

think one gets traded and the other plays at AAA
think Thompson and White split time in LF
not this coming season. think they open next season with Garver covering DH
