The latest MLB Pipelone team prospect rankings are out. The Rangers rank 6th. Here is what they had to say.

6. Texas Rangers
2022 preseason rank: 9
2021 midseason rank: 11
2021 preseason rank: 21
2020 midseason rank: 24
Top 100 Prospects: Josh Jung, 3B (No. 39); Jack Leiter, RHP (No. 48), Evan Carter, OF (No. 59); Owen White, RHP (No. 62); Justin Foscue, 2B (No. 82); Brock Porter, RHP (No. 94)

The Rangers have improved their standing for the fourth straight ranking, thanks to a combination of potential star talent and depth. They may have their deepest crop of pitching prospects ever, starting with Leiter, White, Porter, Kumar Rocker and Cole Winn, who were signed out of the Draft for a combined $21.5 million. They're well-stocked in position players as well, led by Jung, Carter, Foscue and Luisangel Acuna.

Are the Rangers playing their veterans until they are mathematically eliminated?

To me, there isn't any sound reason why they're sticking with them on a regular basis. I could see that being part of their thought process, even though I feel there's not a lot of reasonable thought involved.

It is really odd. I don't remember this happening this late in the season during the rebuild or really amy other time we actually had young prospects worth taking a look at in similar situations.

It would be one thing if we were getting anything out of Calhoun or Miller on a regular basis.

That still might not stop them. You know momentum was mentioned as a need

Lol. That momentum argument kills me. I have seen teams lose momentum over the All Star break. How are they supposed to carry it over for 5 months? Lol

Heard the radio that Beasley said he’s going to play Miller at DH almost every day. Wants to see how he handles DH.

I've always appreciated Beasley, but holy shit he is coming across more and more like Woody 2.0.
