The Rangers still have the 9th worst record, but with a 3.5 game cushion between them and both the Angels and the Cubs. With 7 games to go and with 4 of those games against the Yankees, there is a decent chance we can finish 8th or 9th. If somehow, we sweep the Angels then all bets are off though. The Marlins have now entered the picture as they have played better of late. They are only a game and a half away from the Rangers. A game and a half separates the Rockies and the Rangers.

7. Marlins have all 6 games let against contenders
8. Rockies have all 6 games let against contenders
9. Rangers have only 3 games against non-contenders
10. Cubs have all 6 games against non-contenders
11. Angels have all 6 games against non-contenders

The Rangers would have the tiebreaker on every one of these teams so we would only have to finish with the same record as a team to be ahead of that team in the draft order. And then, the lottery will determine the final order.

To have fun running a simulated draft lottery, based on up to the minute standings, go to tankathon.com. I recently ran the draft-lottery simulation on that site 10 times and the following selection spots are what it showed for the Rangers.

I'm really rooting for Judge to break the record this weekend. I don't want 62 happening in our park.

To me, Duran was our minor league player of the year and Owen White was our minor league pitcher of the year.

Had he pitched just a few more games I would have considered Ryan Garcia as our minor league pitcher of the year.

Against one of their better hitters and then strikeouts the next batter.
Probably should have just pitched around him at that point
