Another quality start for Otto.
IMO he's about sealed his place as the #5 starter next year. Think I'd have him a bit ahead of Dunning for his superior consistency.

Look ok on paper but he made mistakes that they him pay and he got outbid some jams that cold have cost more runs

THey showed he was much better not allowing walks in September vs July

Unless they trade him for a pitcher this offseason.
You want this? I think he is likely untouchable unless you get a really good pitcher with plenty of control

He is probably better than Dunning with an injured hip. I like Otto.

I do think Dunning should be better next year, when he is healthy, than he was this year.

For sure. I mean, Otto's work hasn't always been the most pretty but the end results are pretty consistently decent.
Like you mentioned his walk rate has been improving. His opponent OPS is not too bad (724 before tonight's game if I read correctly).

Just because I present a possibility doesn't mean I want it.

We will have to wait and see how Chris Young operates.

It depends on just how badly this organization thinks they need pitching. I am okay with not making any trades this offseason at all, or if we do trade I would rather it be prospect for prospect. I don't expect things to go as I would have them go though.

Dunning has a higher ceiling and better stuff. Hopefully with a healed hip he can perform more consistently like the guy we saw real flashes of. A guy that could legitimately be a 3.75 ERA type guy.
I worry about Dunning mentally. Hope he's not a bit soft mentally.
Would like to see him be able to be better than a guy who pitches well about 60% of the time.
Whereas with Otto, though he doesn't ever dominate, he's good for about 5-5.2 innings, 2-3 runs given up around 75-80% of the time

i think if we trade OF'ers this off-season it would be Gutierrez and Martinez but i would expect it would cost us Duran, Foscue & Crim plus one or both of them

The Rangers keep the 9th worst record as everyone loses. They are just about guaranteed of not falling to 10th.

So, I guess the Rangers player of the year awards are pretty cut and dried this year.

Position Player of the Year -- Lowe
Starting Pitcher of the Year -- Perez
Reliever of the Year - Moore

So who would be the MVP, Lowe or Perez?
