Its very frustrating. I still think its gonna happen, but surely another team has an open window now to steal him. I guess whatever happens happens, but I hope the player wasn't a HUGE part of it. Like for example if it was Olt, and the Cubs never realized just HOW BAD his eyes were to start the year. If that was the case that would be a huge snag that we'd have trouble filling in.

Sounds like sensationalism. I pretty much only trust mlbtraderumors

It hasn't collapsed. Still likely, but like i said the window for another team to swoop in and steal him is wide open. Especially considering most teams can just look at the reports at what we offered and top it just enough.

The deal that was originally planned wont happen. But if it is just a minor part of the deal then we're fine. If its Olt, we could be in trouble. Ramirez is replacable because we have jackson and edwards. Olt isn't as much because hes already MLB ready

Theo is a great mind in the game and hes gonna be great for the cubs, but he is an absolute bitch to do business and transactions with. This would just add to that.

Would do that. I like Garcia as well, but Profar can pretty much do the same. Garcia actually is probably a more valuable piece than Olt.

You would think they would have already known this ahead of time based upon what happened earlier in the year. Unless there is something that we do not know. But they would not be so stupid to jeopardize a trade by trying to slide something by.

The source says he doesn't know why, and he doesn't know whether to agree with it. But he's just passing information that the front office is far less confident now than they were. Possibly indicating another team has jumped in.
