No More "Bullpen Failure"
I think if you look at the pattern the Rangers have followed lately, I think you will see they want their prospects to succeed at AAA before coming up. Right or wrong, what they feel is best is what they are going to do. Jung, Smith, Wendzel and Thompson all have made a stop in AAA. Other than the odd situation that 2020 was, Huff has had to stop in AAA as well.I don’t think AAA is necessary IMO. A lot of top prospects skip AAA or play there very little. It seems like AA is slightly harder with a better talent of younger guys. It might be about even as far as hardness goes just older guys at AAA younger at AA, but more likely to face future all stars in AA and more likely to face roster fodder in AAA.
These guys look about ready…
I do understand MLB is way harder than any minor leagues and I am aware of the recent struggles of top prospects that recently got promoted around the league.
No need to rush them too fast I guess.. but it’s getting very close.
On the pitching side, Winn has had to too. It is not unusual to see a AA pitcher come up to the majors to make an emergency start though.
If your theory is right about AA being harder, wouldn't we see guys who got promoted from AA to AAA, start off right away playing better in AAA than they just played in AA? I don't follow minor leaguers other than ours so maybe that does happen on a regular basis. I just don't recall it happening with our guys.
