Max Wagner, form Clemson, is another kid to keep an eye on for our 4th or 5th round pick.

Wagner is hitting .383 with 15 doubles, 24 home runs and 69 RBIs in 180 at-bats in 52 games.

Might as well. Serving no purpose here.
what do you guys want him playing every day? i see him starting behind the plate on Sunday (da game after a night game). i can see him starting on Wed., Friday & Sunday against Detmers (L), Logue (L) & unknown at Oak.

and what do you do with Heim if he were to play every day? send him down to RR, release him

I do not care if he plays here but he isn't. If he starts fine but he does not need to sit and do nothing.

so let's DFA Heim and make Huff the only catcher. we don't need a backup

Garner's injury is the problem and CY needs to address it. He could be playing C and 1B pretty regular but that decision has not been addressed.

He didn’t play against the last left hander that pitched. He’s batting.444. He should be playing more than he has been. Counting today it’s 4 games in a row he hasn’t played, because of the dumbass manager.

At some point when Garner gets well and can catch a decision has to be made. Will we carry three catchers or send one down or trade one. Untill that decision is made, we will be in a delimma to who plays where each game.

Yeah I would hope Huff would catch twice a week and DH once and be available to PH.
Of course we don’t send Heim down @scotsman1948

The day the LHP on the mound was a perfect start and tomorrow which is likely will be fine
He should have pinch hit 2 nights ago I thought trying To remember who for. It was about the 7th inning I am thinking

I would think we would get a time table for when Garver to be able to catch. If too long that is a tough call. Not sure signing a guy to catch so little is wise for now

No Hamels type deals for me. At the end of the season we can address any needs via free agency first and then a trade if need be.

Do we know that Garner is going to be well enough to catch before a couple of months or longer?

We are pretty much keeping 3 catchers now. Once Garner can play catcher I don't think that means they have to get rid of a catcher, since they are really in that same predicament already, and have no problem with the roster being constructed this way. Garner being able to catch just makes him a little more flexible so roster flexibility would be better then than it is now.

They just need to acquire a backup catcher, send Huff down and take someone off of the 40.

Of course the best thing to have done would have been to have kept Garver on the DL until he could catch. There is no rule saying you have to take a position player off of the DL as soon as he is able to hit.

He doesn't need to be relegated to start 2 or 3 times a week. The same goes for Smith, Foscue, Jung(eventually), Duran, Harris, Crim, or Wendzel. If they want to do that with lesser prospects then fine, but you don't do that to your top guys who you are trying to develop into starters.
